It is a good read. Here is the conclusion.
“So there you have it, three mid-engined exotics that are as sensational to drive as they are (relatively) sensible to own. Which would I have? Well, the Audi and McLaren are both gobsmackingly brilliant, but it’s the bewitching Ferrari that has me under its spell.”

Interesting but tbh I couldn't disagree more with it. I have owned all 3 and the Audi and Mclaren were for me a country mile better than the 430, both in driving dynamics and especially in build quality.Think this is the same write up as the EVO article

Of all my cars....the F430 still gives me a big smile with its theatre and timing that gear change in-between the noise being outputted is just fantastic
Having been fortunate enough to drive/own 2 of the 3 in the list, I also have to admit the Ferrari does have what I think James May called 'the fizz' every time you get behind the wheel.Edited by coops18 on Friday 2nd November 06:03

Looks are subjective and I personally like it
One question though is the scud rly worth upto 100k more than a regular f430?
Also if you had 200k would you buy
A 360cs a 430 scud or a regular 458
I debated between a Scud and an F430 when I bought in 2014. In the end I wanted to drive and track the car and not be concerned about rarity and values so I went F430. Cost me circa £10k to upgrade the brakes and suspension, remove 100kg and remap to 525bhp. I now have a better power to weight ratio than the Scud without risking a 200k car - which wouldn't be an option for me.One question though is the scud rly worth upto 100k more than a regular f430?

On your second question, between those three I think you'd get most use out of the 458, most thrills from the Scud, but the most fizz from the CS. As an addition to what I have I'd go 458, as my only car I'd go CS.

it's not worth 100k more as such but they hold their value so at least you'll get it back and it could be worse, the TDF isn't worth £700,000 over a standard f12 imoOne question though is the scud rly worth upto 100k more than a regular f430?

£200k is way into 488 territory these days!

went through that thought process 15 months ago and settled on a Scud. CS looks and sounds better, but as a car for track days I felt the newer Scud will hopefully be less fragile (tbc). The 458 did not really interest me as I wanted something that feels more of an event when driving / not a plush daily and am not a fan of DCT (I have the FF for that). So far have done about 15k km and quite happy with it - no major issues, performs well on track/fast enough, feels special when driving it. Am surprisingly happy with the F1 box, feels much more entertaining than the DCT - so much so that while I still would prefer a manual, I am at least no longer contemplating to convert the Scud to manual.
I did not pay 200k GBP though, I bought a higher mileage (51k km at purchase, now 65-66k km) car for c. 150k euros.

F430 is an absolute mess stylistically IMO. No cohesion whatsover.
Sadly I have to agree, I think the mechanical change maybe better, but the styling.OMG. I could have done better, and I am no artist. On the plus side it makes the 360 look way better , and getting better with age, the only side or view i dont like on the 360 is lookiing at the front head on, it looks a little wrong , whereas the 430 looks better from that same viewpoint.

I personally like both the 360 and 430, but then I like the front of a 720s and hate the back end On the plus side it makes the 360 look way better , and getting better with age, the only side or view i dont like on the 360 is lookiing at the front head on, it looks a little wrong , whereas the 430 looks better from that same viewpoint.

good call imo, also worth noting there's barely any track days you can take a 360cs on because it's insane volumeSo far have done about 15k km and quite happy with it - no major issues, performs well on track/fast enough, feels special when driving it.
