Extended Warranty

My 458 Spider Ferrari warranty runs out in May 2019.

Anyone use Warranty direct or Warranty wise ?
I have had quotes from both of the above, one seems to cheap and one is more expensive than the Ferrari warranty .

Any other recommendations.

Apart from condensation in the rear centre brake light I have had no issues. The car has now done 18,000 miles.

I am a born worrier. I appreciate could just save the premium and hope I have no issues however I would prefer the peace of mind of a new 3 year warranty.

Probably best to extend through Ferrari. My experience of manufacturer extended warranties is that they tend to be more comprehensive than aftermarket warranties, although I have no experience of Ferrari specifically.

My warranty from new ran out earlier this year on my '14 Speciale. I had renewal quotes through from the main dealer for 2 different levels of cover.

I felt that, for me personally, I'd rather spend what needed doing on the car as and when it arose, rather than pinging across several thousand pounds for what might not happen. I suspect I am in a minority here but given the car is covered for 7 years worth of main dealer servicing, I was happy to live without the warranty for the time as the car has been trouble free generally so far.

Ferrari have a terrible reputation for paying out. They specifically won't cover front damper issues on the 458 (possibly the most common issue on the 458), while I believe Warranty Direct will.

My Ferrari warrant runs out next summer also, and I'm also tempted to self-warrant. Aside from the rear brake light issue as above (was £120 to fix myself with genuine parts) the car has been faultless.

That doesn’t sound good. I have never had any issues with Manufacturer Warranties not paying out...Porsche, Mercedes etc...but like I said, never owned a Ferrari, so no idea as to their track record. Just assumed it would be a safer bet. Well, you know what they say about assume...never do that because it will make an ass out of you and me..

Massive thumbs up for Warranty Direct from me. Used them on many cars previously and never had a failed claim. I am talking payments in excess of £12k over the years.

My Maserati Granturismo came with a warranty wise warranty and it was not worth the paper it was written on.

The Power warranty is also useless as it does not cover the most failed part on a 458 - the suspension!
