488 wheel referbishment
Discussion
I have just managed to kerb 2 of my wheels avoiding an idiot. The back one is a tiny scratch but the front on is quite bad.
Does anyone know the cost at the dealer?
Is this a dealer only thing to get done, or are there good independents? My nearest dealer is Birmingham in Solihull.
The wheels are the forged matte option.
Thanks

don't involve the dealer, they just subcontract it and add a mark-up

If you are OK going to MK, also consider Supreme Wheels.
I gave them a 20'' Carrera wheel to refurb off my Porker and they did a great job.
It was black on the face, but with the silver narrow outer rim. The back of the wheel was silver grey.
They did the entire wheel applying all three colours of paint for just some fairly basic edge damage and charged about £65.00 from memory.

I’m interested that the forged wheels are repairable at all. The spokes extend all the way out to the edge of the rim and putting the wheel on a lathe is going to change the way the spokes meet the rim. I am sure they will look fine in isolation but won’t be an exact match.
Better than paying out, what, £2500 for a replacement.
