Challenge Stradale alcantera fade
Discussion
I’ve looked at a couple CS’s with the red/black alcantera. The “black” has turned to a medium grey, which isn’t so bad, but the red is somewhere between pink and a light brick-red color. Against the typical Rosso Scuderia, it does not look good. Although I’m not sure pinkish, faded red looks good on anything; it would probably be less noticeable on a silver car?
The examples I’ve seen are fairly low mile and well taken care of. It’s not like they’ve been parked in the sun to bake. So, it must be a common problem.
Has anyone tried to dye them back to original color? Is that a recipe for disaster on a car that commands such a big originality premium?

Based on ownership, it’s been garage stored; not street parked. Not saying it hasn’t ever seen the sun; clearly it has or there would be no fading.
Put another way, every CS example I’ve seen in person; the red has some amount of fading. I don’t think this recent example I’m looking at has an exceptional amount of fading. It seems pretty standard and I’ve seen a couple old threads that talk about re-dying the CS interior due to this problem.
My gut tells me there’s more downside than upside that I screw up something in the process. I probably should either be ok with the “faded brick” red or I should wait until I find one with all black interior. But if I find out it’s faitly common to dye them back to original red (whatever that may be), I might consider it.

Re-Dying will be difficult due to different colored stitching.
