Saw a Cali but without scuderia shields, would it be difficult to sell on?

Yes.
Why?
If you’re already asking the question, then you know it’s something 99% of buyers will want. Given that almost all cars have them, if resale is an issue, then buy with shields as there’s plenty to choose from.

Not sure about the California but most of the other cars I have seen the wing is indented so the shield sits into it so retro fitting to factory look will be very hard. I have seen couple of cars with plastic aftermarket ones.

Yes they're indented, you can get aftermarket but they don't look as good. Probably best solution (although expensive) is to replace the front wings

If I was in the market for a modern Ferrari, I'd look high and low for one without wing shields. They are rare beasts, but all models look way better without them.

Tbh doesn’t bother me either. Aren’t they only supposed to be on special edition cars anyway

Its a pretty nailed on must have option on all Ferraris so presumably its reflected in the selling price in the 1st place.
If it doesn't appeal/bother you fine but just accept if you ever want to sell it you will equally have to reflect it in the price and it does massively narrow the market.
If its a keeper its irrelevant

There's been mission creep with them over the years. In the old days, Enzo's firmer hand refused them to any road car. People plastered aftermarket ones on, anyhow, especially on the cheaper models and definitely on replicas. Then the factory started to put them on special editions. And then when the personalised options jamboree started, there was a clamour for them & anyone can now uglify their car from new with all sorts of horror colour & trim combos. Personally, I think they're tacky wannabe boy racer items, but hey it's a free world.

my cars have the shields, but esp on the FF I would have preferred without, just makes for a more elegant and cleaner look imo. It is difficult to find cars without them though, so the majority clearly favours them.

Well Behemoth I may be tapping you up in a year asking if you'd like a car sans shields!

I have no idea why someone would want the shields (just IMHO)

I think they are a bit tacky. Sort of like the cap and bomber jacket from Ferrari world etc. You know you are driving one, you bought it. Hardly anyone can't tell its a Ferrari anyway, so I am not sure what they are for. I am defo not in the more is more camp on this one.

Latest trend is larger painted shields.Obviously easier to add but not sure if the Ferrari supplier who does them would paint on a used car.
Also not sure of cost in UK but it is an $11,000 option on US cars.

Depends on the car and the colour in my opinion. I'm a sucker for Giallo calipers, so I love the shields (even though they're actually a different yellow shhhh)

I'm definitely not a Ferrari bomber jacket & cap guy though, my sister bought me a Ferrari shirt from Italy and naturally - and confusingly to her - I could only ever wear it when I wasn't in or anywhere near the car.

As Rambo said - love them or loathe them - they are regarded as one of those options you tick without even really thinking about it, lest you suffer come resale. Same with Nav even though it's perfunctory at best (might have improved on the 488, I doubt it though).

My 355 doesn't have shields. I'm in the minority I think, but it wasn't even a factor when I was buying the car. Having said that it's also got the F1 box. I guess those two factors make it worth about 20K....

Mind you, I do own a Ferrari cap......though I'd never wear it driving the 355 for obvious reasons. I have no problem wearing it back to front whilst driving the daily (VXR) though :-)

I've not got the shields on my 360, would actually have preferred the car with them as it breaks up that area of wing a little, however I've yet to see stick-ons that look decent and I'm not prepared to replace the wings etc so no-shields the car remains for now!

My Cali didn't have shields. I'm actually indifferent on whether they add much to the car.

The main dealer I bought the car from had no issue moving it on relatively quickly on when I sold it back to them.

My 360 has aftermarket shields and they are very good and difficult to fault, Christian Lewis did tell me the make of them, I would say that they look every bit as good as factory shields. They were on when I bought the car.
Interesting to know they probably could be removed if needed, best of both worlds so to speak, personally I would always prefer them.
