Anyone know this 458 - and also.... Red or Black... hmmm
Discussion
Hi Everyone
I am going to make the leap and change from my 430 to a 458, the 430 is the usual Rosso Corsa, Cream Daytona's and is immaculate...
Im looking at a couple of cars but what are other peoples experiences of reselling a black Ferrari? Harder? dealers always trying to chip you down because its Nero? Personally i like both, but lean towards Rossa Corsa
this is the car in question - http://preowned.ferrari.com/en/gb/search/2011/ferr...
Thoughts? It looks a great spec to me, anyone know it?
thanks!

Surly colour is a non-issue when you're buying pre-owned.
Resale red or nero will be priced accordingly when you're buying as much as when you're selling.
Personally, buy the car in the colour you like and enjoy the ownership rather than a colour a future buyer may prefer.

Stratstone's own website has the price £5k cheaper.
It was for sale through Meridien in Jan 2014 with 5,000 miles at £164,995 then £159,995 in Mar 2014.
For sale through Stratstone's in Jul 2016 with10,450 miles at £164,994.
For sale through Stratstone's from Jul 2017 with 15,591 miles at £159,995; price reduced to £156,009 in Aug 2017; price reduced to £154,346 in Sep 2017; price reduced to £151,065 in Oct 2017 then increased to £153,794 later in Oct 2017; then decreased to £151,294 in Nov 2017; then to £153,794 later in Nov 2017; to £154,995 in Dec 2017; to £152,887 for Christmas! to £154,128 in Jan 2018; to £159,047 in Feb 2018; to £154,128 in Mar 2018 and finally to £149,994 in the last few days (just not on Ferrari Approved).
Anyone like to explain the pyschology behind Stratstone's random number pricing?

There is logic in that post - no reason to think that the discount for black against red will be any different on resale than on purchase.Resale red or nero will be priced accordingly when you're buying as much as when you're selling.

Personally I wouldnt want to be mistaken for an undertaker.

Colour is less important on a 458 IMO, the dark colours really suit it. I went black F430 then Grigio Silverstone 458, sold both without much problem for gains.
That patricular one looks toppy on price to me, with that mileage trade bid would be circa £130-£135k max at the moment.
If you're getting one, I would definitely go for carbon racing seats, you sit lower and they're comfy and look gorgeous.
Good luck with the search

That car has been up for sale for over 12 months now and not because it is black but probably other reasons
I have seen black cars come and go within weeks as there are many who don't want a Ferrari in a loud colour.
I wanted a Black 458 and not a red one for my own reasons that I will not say on here as it may offend some here (Look at me I won the lottery and bought a red Ferrari)
I will be selling mine soon - sending you a PM
