Hi all,

The time is almost here, I have just had another picture of my car on the production line and it's looking very close to being finished. I am not sure how long it takes from now, I was expecting to pick it up at the start of April but by the looks of it, it could be sooner.

I have just been on compare the market for a quick insurance quote and it's coming out at around £1500 a year which I think is very reasonable. I am obviously going to call some specialists, the usual people I use are either AON, Aplan or Adrian Flux, are there any others I should try? I would like to get track day cover included if possible, is this an option with anyone?

Its been a long 12 months waiting, if anyone has any advise on pick up or on first time Ferrari ownership I would be pleased to hear from you.

I am going to be driving the car its not going to be a garage queen, although it wont be a daily driver and will be very well looked after. I do quite a lot of work in motorsport so hope to take it to a couple of races around europe.

Very few track day cover inclusive policies now - you could ask Locktons who have a dedicated Ferrari policy http://www.locktonperformance.com/our-cover/ferrar...

Congratulations the 488 is a great car. Not sure who you are buying from but HRowen insurance can help. They are essentially a brand within Stackhouse Poland and have a pragmatic approach to occasional track days. Not cheap though

worth mentioning that if a a fault occurs on a track day then don't tell ferrari what you were doing, they've denied warranty claims before on the basis that "these cars aren't supposed to be driven on tracks"

Congrats and enjoy in good health. Not long now by the looks of it.

I have my F12 with mannings including trackday cover and Nordshleife for a small charge on each event (as long as the event organiser is ATDO).

Good for you on the usage plans as well. I did 7.5k in my first 6 months.

Thanks for the info guys. I am buying from Graypaul Ferrari Birmingham. I will check out your suggestions.

I am going to join the official owners club. Are there any other owners clubs which are more focused on meets and driving? Or the the official on the place to be?

I've in the past been in other owners clubs of other marquees and found them great for events both driving and social.

Looks good. Enjoy.

Would recommend doing the Silverstone Classic in July (if not been before), the world's biggest classic car show. Always a big Ferrari turnout there.

That looks really good, unfortunately I am working at a big motorsport event in NYC when that is on frown maybe next year.
