I have a 488 Spyder arriving in January. It has been specced with a rear camera and sports exhaust. Both of which I am not sure are required as the parking sensors should suffice and the sports exhausts are tips producing no change in tone. Is there an aftermarket sports exhaust available. Thanks for any advice.
Yes, the option is just for the exhaust tips. At the price, it couldn't be anything more. As for the reversing camera, it's a wide car with limited visibility, I've specified it but it's silly money but then we are talking about ludicrous options prices. It will provide the same function as a modestly specified VW Golf.

Except the screen is really small and difficult to see tbh I'd delete it, I have it on my FF which I bought used but it's next to uselessF355GTS said:

Have it on my F12, don't have it on either of the 458s, never needed to use it in any of them and I've been round Europe umpteen times in them. Waste of money.

Thanks for the spec tips, I managed to scuff the front spoiler of my GT3 crawling over speed bumps at the eurotunnel terminal last week and I also have an awkward ramp into my garage so the lift may be useful. I can imagine the reversing camera is pretty useless.
What about parking sensors. Do the disfigure the car?

On my 458 spider I have the front lift and (I guess because I have it) I use it a lot. Re the reversing camera. This was a last minute addition to my spec and I find it useful. The visibility reversing is very poor because of the buttresses and I primarily reverse using the wing mirrors and the sensors (and after having had a good look at what I'm reversing into) but I do find the camera a useful extra check. I think, as with many spec items, it depends on how you plan to use the car and how long you intend to keep it. I spec my cars how I want them to be for the way I want to use them. An example is seats. I am almost considered a heretic for having electric Daytona seats but I like to be able to fiddle with the seat adjustment while driving depending what shoes etc I'm wearing and you can't really do that with the manual racing seats.
You are welcome. I have found the lifter a godsend when negotiating underground car parks with steep ramps at European (primarily Italian) hotels. In previous Ferraris I was for ever graunching the front end on these ramps to the great distress of Mrs Wombat and when she saw the lifter on the 458 options list she considered it non-negotiable and I'm glad she did (her other non-negotiable item was the embroidered cavalinos on the headrests and I'm glad she insisted on those too, even at several hundred pounds).
I have notified the dealer and will add, brings the extras to over £50k which in comparison to others seems low, crazy car world that we are all in! Have learnt I wont be charged the 2018 7% increase which came in last week as car was scheduled for September, then December, now likely January, but was ordered/deposited 18 months ago. Because of the 70th anniversary 488/F12 range all production has been delayed. So I guess I should be thankful, and loot to the lifter as coming from my savings on the new list. Thats it,justified!
Thanks, useful information. I am unfortunately caught by the price increase, and production is delayed anyway until goodness knows when. I’m going to keep the lift, camera and sensors and dump most of the carbon fibre, just the seatbacks and steering wheel, maybe the bridge.
Also going, dare I say it, are the shields. Never really liked them anyway. I don’t think the 488 needs the ornamentation.
Still something like £30k of options which compares with £18k on a GT3 which, touching wood, is being built on time.

blimey, brave man dropping the shields, it will seriously impact resale value and desirability. Given your spec I'd be keeping the shields, sensors and carbon and considering dropping the lift and camera. Also going, dare I say it, are the shields. Never really liked them anyway. I've had my 458 Spider for 2 years now and it's never grounded once, it will happily drive over normal UK speed humps with a wheel eitherside without grounding and also into my garage which is a 30 degree to level slope, it even managed every hairpin on the Stelvio without so much as a rub.

Would order the shields for sure,as most people do. Wont be ordering the front lift as it needs to be ordered in conjunction with Adaptive front lights, Total cost lifter £2880,Lights £1440,total of £4320! Ouch!
I never used the front lift once in mine, Unlike my 570s that scrapes over everything.Don't be fooled into the £2600 for the passenger display either - mine had this and people still used to look at the main speedo to see how fast you were traveling.
