488 daily/regular driver

Pretty soon I'm going to be in the market for a 488.
I'm coming from a 2008 Audi R8 which I use fairly regularly - 3x a week, maybe 2 short trips and a long one each week, around 10k miles a year. I would need/want to do the same in the 488.
I'm wondering what problems I will have using it as an 'every day' but not 'daily' car, in particular:
- How will it fare in bad weather - heavy rain or those icy winter mornings. Am I asking for trouble? The R8 is 4WD so no issues there.
- Parking in multi story car parks - does it work :-)
- Response to using it as a daily car. I don't see many Ferraris parked in Tesco. Even the attention of an R8 is full on sometimes.
- Depreciation at 10k+ miles a year, being parked outside more often etc - is it nuts in a car like this?
Any other considerations to using one as a daily?

- Rain is ok, snow/ice, I can't imagine you'll get very far or worth risking it for that matter.
Yes, it is still a car BUT it's very low which makes it much harder.

- I don't think any Ferrari is really considered being good at being a daily but it will definitely manage to go to Tesco's and back
Depends how many years you're keeping it for... 1 year not too bad but a 3/4/5 year old 488 with 30k/40/50k miles will be a hard sell at anything other than a bargain.

- Buy one and buy another car for a couple of grand to do the bits it will struggle (multi storey car parks for example)
It will cope with all of that in much the same way your r8 did/does.
Ferraris are extremely mileage sensitive. A 2011 39k 458 recently sold at around 130k and was for sale a long time. The cheapest 488 for Sale at present is 205k. If you keep it 4 years and put 40000 miles on it I would expect loose around £70000 In depreciation alone.

I think you would be mad to use it as a daily. It's overkill for anything but the enjoyable drives and for the price of the depreciation 10k of crappy commuting transport miles on your pride & joy you could get some small auto econobox with a/c (something like a 911 
) which would be more suited.
) which would be more suited. I think you're asking for trouble. I would never ever consider buying a new Ferrari and putting 10k plus miles on it per annum as there's so much you out there you could buy as a daily and not do your brains in/use all year.
Can't you buy the 488 as a summer/weekend car and something alongside as your long haul/tescos/winter car?

Someone I know passed away recently leaving behind a 3 month old, <500km 488. No doubt he would give anything now to be able to drive it every day. If you can afford it then do it, life is too short. I don't want to sound blase because no one likes to lose money unnecessarily but sometimes you have to think about how long we will be on this earth and what you want from life. So it sells in 4 years for 130 instead of 150 - that's the choice you have to make. If you are even considering it as a daily driver I doubt the extra 20 or 30k depreciation will have too much of an impact on your life, so I say go for it and enjoy it!

Waow really impressed by how so many people are against Ferraris being driven 10,000miles per year the first couple years - that image is sticking! Question to those who are against 10,000miles a year: do you actually own a recent Ferrari? or any even?
But here is another image, a modern and adult image they should start getting used to: new Ferraris are more than capable to take 10,000 miles a year: trust me they wont disintegrate or anything when they reach 20,000 or 30,000 miles. They will most probably run better than the super low mileage 3-5 year old ones.
Here in Central London, many are run on a daily basis...and i am sure in other places around the world (such as California for instance) many more are run equally, and they are all fine!

I have a starship mileage $hitbox 25k miles 2010 458. However, my only gripe with the mileage is that I didn't put most of it up. I wouldn't use it as a daily because I have a school run and really about a dozen other fundamental reasons not including mileage and depreciation (like looking like a nob in the office car park). I'm thinking of chopping it in now for a 488 and now the mileage is a problem for me.
That said, i fully get the YOLO principle and I withdraw my earlier objection - if you can do it and don't care about the £20k enough to deprive yourself of the life experience absolutely go for it.

Nobody is saying don't drive it full stop but the OP asked what people's thoughts on using it as a daily all year round.
All that is being said is that a Ferrari with 40k on after 4 years isn't going to be the easiest to sell as Ferrari's are mileage sensitive end of. If the OP is happy to take a hit then go ahead.

Voicey has some depreciation curves on the 360 and 430 - I dont see why the 488 shouldnt follow a similar pattern. That suggests that from new to 20k miles the depreciation is 30/40% which would make a 20k miles 488 worth £120/140k
However, we have a price bubble at the moment and the likes of the 430 and 360 are priced above what you could buy them for 5 years ago. If that bubble collapses then 488 prices will be affected too.
As for car parks, Tesco etc, you are vulnerable to the owner of the knackered LR in the next bay opening his door and banging into your aluminium bodywork.
For me the real concern would be that driving it daily would make it no longer a "special event"
