I have a 458 which is still covered under manufactures warranty. I recently had my car serviced and informed them of an issue in which I noticed condensation in one of the headlights, I also provided photo evidence.

I was informed by the service team that its something that they see often which is "normal" and as a result is not covered under the vehicle warranty. How in the hell can Ferrari consider this normal?

Anyone else had this problem? And if so was it covered under warranty?

Condensation in the headlight can be an MOT failure so no it's NOT normal.

If the condensation is more of a misting inside the lamp, that clears when the lights are in use/weather is more favourable then yes they will consider that normal and won't be covered, as would most manufacturers... However if there is water gathering in the lamp that doesn't clear then there is an issue and this should be dealt with, as Red Duke said it can impact the operation of the car.

From experience however they will want to be able to experience and document the fault themselves, your photo's alone won't satisfy the factory unfortunately and the dealer won't take responsibility for such expensive parts being replaced without Italy's say so.

First step with misty headlights is to buy some big silica gel bags off Amazon or Ebay and throw them in or near the headlights and leave for a week or two and see if that dries them out. Costs pennies and often cures the issue. It only takes a quick blast from a jetwash or carwash to get moisture in most headlamp units, nowadays.
