Just got my 430 spider back from its annual service and having a few bits done.
Car has Agency Power manifolds, Tubi test pipe and the OEM back box with a Forza remote control unit for the valves.
The new (early summer 2014) AP manifolds came supplied with a 'ceramic coating' done when brand new by a US company. This coating burnt off after approx 50 miles, I got the cost of the coating refunded! I had an exhaust bandage wrap applied to as interim solution, this was ok for the first couple of years but had deteriorated quite a bit by summer of last year and was falling apart so a more permanent and better solution was required.
I had looked into different options before and knew I wanted them coating at Zircotec, manifolds (+test pipes) where sent to them for 'performance white' coating. Took a little longer than the quoted 10 day turnaround as was told they didn't pass quality inspection and needed re doing.
Just got the car back at the weekend and have done approx. 100 miles. This included some sustained high revs/ high speed runs very close to vmax (luckily I have access to a private road smile )
No issues to report so far and the difference in heat radiated around the front of the engine bay is quite frankly, astounding! It feels almost ambient temp upon opening the engine bay lid and placing hand near the block above space above the manifold.
I will report back how I get on as I put more miles on, I'm going to the Nurburgring over August bank holiday so it will be properly tested on the Autobahn.
Will post a few pics.

Hello,

I am resurrecting this as I would appreciate some feedback on how the coating has performed after some time?
Any feedback you could share?

I use zircotec on my race cars which of course take quite a pounding and never had an issue. They have a great rep.

Hi,

Feedback is this coating has made an very noticeable overall difference to the way the car runs. The reduction in heat radiated from the manifolds around the block is astounding to the point of its like some sort of space age cooling sorcery!
I'm extremely happy with the results and car feels a lot better for it. I use the car as intended and on the road trip to the Nurburgring last year the car performed faultlessly in some high ambient temperatures and hard use on the Autobahn at sustained vmax and on the amazing roads around the ring.
My previous Nurburgring road trip prior to having the manifolds coated by Zircotec ended up with a few of the coil packs break down due to high temps in the engine bay.
I can't recommend getting this done enough to be honest, why its not a standard fitment I don't know. It's definitely one of the best upgrades I have done to the car.
3 year guarantee on the coating too! smile

Cheers guys, I am actually doing it to the exhaust of my 899 panigale - in white as well - to contrast the ducati red.

Just one more question - did they powder coat the internal or just the external of the pipes?

It’s only the external surface. I’ve been using this process on clients cars for almost five years now without issue. Superb service and quick turn around time.
