Need to get a few little jobs done on my 355, just wondered if anyone has had the sticky controls sorted recently, I know of sticky no more in the US but wondered if there was anywhere in the UK that can sort them out.

Also need new tires as they are over 10 years old, anyone got a recommendation where I can get some done without them damaging the wheels !!! ideally surrey but happy to travel if there is someone good !!!

Can't help on the sticky stuff but when I had tires done I was happy to pay a reasonable premium to a Ferrari dealer on the basis that if they or their subcontractor messed up it would be on them

I would check the tire age irrespective of who they come from, markings on the side show manufactured date

Brilliant advice !!!!!!!!!

Phoned Maranello in egham and for a set of 4 they are £100 cheaper than black circles and my local tire specialist and obviously will guarantee not to damage the wheels !!!

I have to now get back on the chair I just fell off !!!

Thanks

DIY'ing the sticky plastics was pretty easy IIRC. You dip them in something (Cillit Bang?!) to strip the sticky original coating off, then spray with a new coating that's very similar. Some chap on Club Scud did it and they looked great. Try searching / asking on there.

/vague but hopefully helpful post

Had my centre console cleaned up by StickyNoMore a few years back, I couldn't find anyone in the UK. Fantasic service, the parts were there and back in a week but boy is it expensive, especially when you add import tax which I couldn't avoid.

Phil
I've just done all my interior plastics myself and its not difficult, just a bit fiddly.
Ping me if you'd like a walk through.

There's a couple of discussions on the FaceBook Club Scuderia forum.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1386335685016207/

Someone used Goo Gone https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/87d/Goo-Gone-Large-Stic... and said it worked well, others seem to have had success with oven cleaner.

I supplied a full set of tyres to my Ferrari dealer for my 458. They didn't really make much of a fuss, largely I imagine because they charged me a king's ransom to fit them.

The differential between what they were quoting me for the exact same rubber as I could get from any number of online dealers was considerable, several hundred pounds if I recall.

EDIT: Bit late as you got a great price from Maranello Egham smile

Hi Andy, if yo ever have to do anything like that again you can avoid paying tax as when you export it get temporary CPC code by calling 03002003700 I believe the commodity code was 8708942000 and on reimport you give the shipped a CPC code of 6121001 complete your C88 form and you're away reason is items were faulty wen way for repair which is accurate and no duty.

Hi Phil
I'm also in Surrey and always use merit Tyres in Chertsey ask for Dev he is really fussy uses hand tools only no airgun. He has always supplied my tyres at amazing prices on my 3 cars (360, Murcielago and 911) never any damage and he has also taken care of sending my wheels off for powder coating in the past when I went for a colour change.
