Actual price a Ferrari dealer buys the car from Ferrari?
Discussion
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone actually knows the ins/ outs of the dealer/ manufacture relationship? Anyone know how the authorised dealer actually makes money from the car sale?
is it a simple fee for selling at say 5% ect... or does a dealer have a set price on the car from factory and options and then sells it for the "official" retail price?

Most manufactures pay a basic commission of 5-6% on the car (more on accessories) and then pay additional volume bonuses for hitting specific sales targets. These bonuses are usually more than the basic commission, sometimes many times more.
On top of this there is commission on the finance plus commission on any service packages. The finance commission can be quite substantial for high interest rate loan. If the loan goes into default some of the commission might be clawed back.
I don't know how Ferrari structures their dealer incentives but I imagine it is similar to this?
