For those who don't 'self insure' - Has anyone recently renewed the "New" Power Warranty? I've been quoted 3 different prices from 3 different dealers and wondered whether anyone else out there had any actual renewal experience. I found this on an earlier thread, apparently from FNEPR, which states two levels of discount should apply to a returning, no claim, customer:

FNEPR said:
In response to some of the questions posed above:

The Ferrari warranty is categorically NOT "just an insurance policy". As the press release stated, and as reported in the article, this is a "factory-backed" warranty with all costs underwritten by Ferrari.

The warranty prices (+vat) are as follows:
V8 models: £2900 for Year 5, then £2100 for Year 6 to 12.
V12 models: £4000 for Year 5, then £2600 for Year 6 to 12.

Customers will receive a 15 per cent loyalty incentive for purchasing additional warranties. A further 15 per cent incentive is also available if no warranty claims were made in the preceding 12 month warranty period.

The New Power Warranty now covers a lot more items than the old "Power Train" warranty used to cover: for example parts of the air conditioning unit and power window motors are now covered, whereas the old Power Train warranty only covered the basic mechanicals of engine and gearbox. The old Power Train warranty has been discontinued and all cars up to 12 years old are eligible for the New Power Warranty.

The warranty is available to purchase from any official Ferrari dealer, even for cars that have been serviced outside of the official network, subject to a technical inspection.

And, finally, any cars which have not been serviced by an official dealer recently can take part in the "Welcome Back" programme, in which an official Ferrari dealer will service the car and provide new Service Book if necessary, with confirmation that the car meets all Ferrari current standards with any outstanding service campaigns or other updates completed on the car.

Since its all the same warranty why not just take the cheapest - dealer might have a target so meet so be offering a little of their commission or something similar

Sorry to resurrect this.

I too am being given completely different answers from dealers about the extended warranty cost.

I have an F430 but would be interested to hear from anyone who has purchased a new power warranty recently and how much you were quoted please?

I renewed mine on a 2011 458 in Oct for £3k inc vat, although it didn’t cover the headlamp washer motor that was needed for the MOT last month!!

I’ll consider warranty direct next time.

Dealers make a fair bit on these so no shame asking them if they can sharpen their pencil a bit. The worst they can say is "no".

Not worth the paper it's written on IMHO - suspension claims - the most common issue on a 458 is not covered! They will wriggle out of anything in the name of wear and tear. Warranty Direct cover Wear and Tear and are brilliant. Have had them on a few supercars or GTs in the past and they have always paid up.

Worth getting a quote to compare IMHO wink

Totally agree with PrancingHorses - I had an F430 for 3 years under warranty and can tell you that Ferrari warranty is a joke, they don't pay out! Best to keep the funds and self-insure.

I got one and then had a gearbox out (and sent to Maranello to fix) problem, which was fully covered.

I've just taken Power Warranty for the first time on my F12 which just turned 4. However, my 458 Spider is 4 in April and I may consider Warranty Direct. Just got some quotes and it's £700 less for the F12 using WD's top policy so I might look at that next year. It's only £100 or so less for the Spider but I think the cover is wider by he looks of it.

Question I have is, does anyone know what the inspection cost is please and do they do it once and then you can renew each year without another inspection?

Inspection cost is £99 ish

No cost at renewal and no re-inspection required with WD. However I think they may be reading this thread as I just called for a renewal quote and the fkers are now quoting more than a Ferrari Power Warranty redface

Thanks.

Their website just quoted me £19xx for both the f12 and 458.

Check the level of cover. You want the extra care or Luxury care policy as they are most comprehensive.

T'was the Extra Care, £1971. Same price for the V8 and V12 strangely.

I've bought the Power thing from Ferrari for the F12 now so I'll run with that for this year but, whilst I'll do some more reading up first and comparison, I think I'll do WD Extra Care on the 458 come April.

I may as well give the dealer the chance to price match the other, more comprehensive, Ferrari warranty (can't remember what it's called) to WD's price but I won't hold my breath.

I just had a quote from WD and it is way cheaper than Ferrari Power Warranty. It also covers shock absorbers, oil seals and wear and tear items that the Ferrari one does not cover. For a £50 surcharge on the premium you get new for old cover once the vehicle is over 6 years old.
It seems very good. Has anyone had a WD policy and made a successful claim for work at a Ferrari main dealer? Was it painless and quickly resolved?

Not claimed on the Ferrari yet but I have used them for years and have claimed on Audi's, BMW, Jaguar, Maserati and Aston Martin. Always paid up.

I was going to go about replacing the front arms on my car (creaking) but just noticed they are mentioned in this warranty, so are they infact covered by Power Warranty?

this thread goes back to 2016 - you should have the documentation from DL on the power warranty that lists everything that is covered. Anything not listed isnt frown
