Picked up an F430 - needs work but is it worth it?
Discussion
To cut a very long story short, I currently have a 2005 Ferrari F430 Spider in my garage that I need to sell. It's red, cream leather with red stitching, carbon driver console, F1, 35k on the clock and mechanically it is perfect.
HOWEVER...
It needs some love to get the top asking price. Majority of the work is small cosmetic work like some new paint and the roof needs a bit of attention, but my question is is it worth spending what will no doubt be a few thousand pounds to get it to a top standard or would I be better off selling it as it is and just taking the money?
Thanks in advance...

Thank you for your reply, I will see if I can get hold of him. To be honest I am not worried about the valuation that much, I know what was paid for it 5 years ago and I know what the market is like at the moment, I just don't want to throw money at it for no reason.
I have been trying to get hold of Marque 1 Cars who are up the road from me for some pricing / valuation help but no one ever seems to answer my calls or emails...
I guess I'll have a bit more of a dig for specialists.

Surely someone buying this class of car wants a clean and pretty car. If it looks like a shed then the prospective buyer may (rightly so) think what else has been neglected. Spend a few grand and get it tip top. Otherwise punt it cheap if you don't care about losing a few quid. All IMHO.
Hi, give Dave or Matt a call at The Ferrari Center who will happily talk you through the SOR options, fairly sure they can place that car quickly and do not charge fortunes for the service.
As part of that the car will go through the workshop and anything that needs fixing will be sorted as they then personally warrant the car not a third party.
Tell Dave I said to call him by all means.

Worth bearing in mind - silly as it may seem - but at 35k mileage it's going to attract a different customer segment anyway. No point IMO making it concours if the mileage would put off that crowd regardless.
At 35k I'd be expecting some wear (nothing major) but more importantly I'd be expecting the seller to know he/she isn't going to get garage queen money.

Is it currently advertised on PH at the moment? If so I emailed you about it asking for some more pics. I'm still interested in it BTW.
If its not you, sorry.
The car isn't advertised yet as I only picked it up on Saturday and need to sort through the mountain of history when I get a chance this weekend. If its not you, sorry.
A good salesman will try and sell it as is on the (cosmetic) basis that its not been messed with or had make up applied to make it something its not but it mechanically in very good order. A lot of customers will, and I say this not in a bad way, fall for that sales pitch. Genuine car, genuine paint etc but fully serviced and well looked after. Its a good pitch! Of course if its in proper bad shape then it might need some TLC!
