Picked up last weekend my new toy, a F430. What a machine. What a noise!
It's such a step up from a 360 (ran one for a year in 2013), and I am totally hooked. It's a 2005 F1 in Grigio Silverstone and Rosso leather. 14k miles, FFSH (Lancaster and the Ferrari Centre, all stamps present), carbon sports seats, shields, yellow callipers, carbon console. I didn't mean to buy it, popped into the showroom in Maidstone and that was it... And I was so happy with the 4C.
First impressions - THE NOISE! It such a lovely place to be, finish is superb, everything works as it should, and it's so nice to be back with NA power. I thought the 4C was like a go kart, and whilst the light steering (by comparison) took me a while to get used to again it just grips and grips, always expecting more. And there is such a lovely controllable spread of power. Makes you grin and feel like a hero at the same time. Oh and did I mention the noise? I also really like the F1 system, much more immersive than the dual clutch system in the 4C, and whilst not a purist manual the feeling of braking hard for a corner and flicking down two gears and hearing the whip crack of the rev blimp is something else.
I paid 90k for her, and whilst I am sure many will say I've bought at the top of the market, I don't care - bought to drive not invest in. I've done more miles in 10 days than she did in all of 2011! Off to France for a couple of days this week and can't wait. But she's a good one, fantastic condition and provenance (one Mr Jenson Button spec'd and ordered the car in 2005; also been owned by Peter Teichman of Hanger 11) and I love the colour combination. The sports seats are also incredibly supportive and comfortable.
So, to other F430 owners, I am rather overjoyed to be in the club. To those considering one, buy it!

Congratulations. Welcome to the club. I've had my manual one over 5 years now and still get the buzz when I take her out. Don't listen to what other people say about buying. When I bought mine and my manual LP640 people told me not to as I wouldn't be able to sell them when I was done. Buy what you like, drive them like they were meant to be driven and you can't lose.
