As much as I would like one of these I can't bring myself to pay the crazy asking prices.

51 of 123 458's for sale are Specialie's so they really don't seem that rare and lots of them have been up for sale for ages now!!!

I would think any dealers who are into these at £300k plus must be a bit worried?

Any thoughts ?

I'm really keen for one and regret not buying a new one (whether I would have actually got on the list is another matter). However, I personally won't pay anywhere near current prices. I'll happily wait and my strike price is between £200-250k for. RHD. Some may say it will never happen but anywhere North of £250k isn't going to happen for me. I don't mind high mileage either as long as it's a no stories car. I've been monitoring these for a while and the same cars are not selling but the pool of supposed available cars is increasing and we are not in Winter. Quite a few speculators have bought these I reckon as quite a few are very low mileage........

Not often you see low mileage and Ferrari in the same sentence.

You can ask whatever price you like but it doesn't mean it will sell.

Only takes 1 idiot with more money than sense to come along though. Its a similar story with McLaren 675LT prices.

Both cars are immense and I would love to have both but no way at £100k over list and twice the price of the regular vanilla 458 or 650S cars. That's where the "value" is.

Buy a special at these high prices and there is a price correction and you will need deeper pockets than me.

Well actually my pockets are deep its just my arms that are short getmecoat

First of all. It's Speciale.

Then yes it is as special as they say it is. I agree that the pricing for RHD went ballistic as soon as people started to realise how good it was. And being the last n/a V8 made things worse.

I personally bought a LHD as it was more reasonably priced. It's not s car I use everyday and driving the other side doesn't bother me. You can only really drive with a certain commitment on wider open roads so being on the other side is not a big deal. Track you would not notice and Euro trips which is what you really want to do in this car you would be better off. I also bought before the exchange rate exploded so I guess it helped.

I am about to take it to the German Alps and a few Austrian and Italian passes. I might run a blog here on PH on the trip.

In any case at any speed it's ferocious and visceral. So special no journey is dull. Gears are so short you can actively use up to 4th gear without getting too much into jail territory. Love it.

The only negative for me is the width coming from a GT3 I think it's too wide for our stty UK undeveloped road network. And the radio is so st it's not even funny.

I'm curious to where all these Speciales came from myself. There weren't anything like the number currently for sale a month or so ago, or it didn't seem like it at any rate? confused

The speciale.. the UK has over 220 RHD cars, a lot more than I think anybody had anticipated.

One reason why Speciale is laughingly modest for arguably one of the most agile and rapid performance cars ever made.

Utterly magnificent. the only thing I would change about mine is maybe putting some capristo 200cell cut to let the noise really come into its own.. But the rest I love. What an adrenaline weapon

Prices have very little to do with performance and much more to do with it being the limited edition 458 with stripes. A great car of course but IMO too quiet with stock exhaust and computer plays too much of a role in delivering the experience.

It wasn't a limited edition model; a limited production time yes but no limit on numbers.

I had the same debate with myself when I sold my 16m……I was asked for 10k more for a Speciale , but stunning as they are I thought banking 90k and buying a pristine 430 Scuderia seemed a better bet. The Speciale may be quicker but I'd never notice I'm not that talented if I want to scare myself witless I can get on the bike
