Hi guys. I'm a long time lurker, in fact I think I was reading the Ferrari threads back when my daily drive was a white Vauxhall Cavalier. I finally joined up to post in another thread so I thought I'd pop in here and post some pics of my dream car which I acquired a couple of months ago. She's a 2014 458 Speciale in Rosso F1.

How do people feel about the gold wheels?

Incredible car, congratulations! I'm not sure I would choose them if speccing it out myself, but I don't think I'd change them either. They do make the car stand out but what the heck - it's a Speciale. I say keep them.

Gold wheels look stunning! Is that a standard finish or aftermarket? It looks incredibly well done. Just mind those kerbs! biggrin

Factory option. I've only seen one other Speciale with the same wheels.

Lovely car. The gold wheels are clearly Ferrari's nod to the Lancia Stratos http://petrolicious.com/driven-by-design-the-incom...

Love the gold wheels and the NART stripe. I remember first seeing the gold wheels as a factory option on the Scud and 16M. Is there any racing history behind Ferrari and using gold wheels on race cars, back in the days?

Yes, absolutely. Chris Amon (RIP this week) in the F312, circa 1967. Ferrari need to add an option for white manifolds. The exhaust on the F312 is the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen on a car.

I like them Adz .. Not a car for the shy, so why not have some shouty wheels smile

Welcome, make sure you update your garage with the rest of your fleet so the nosey can, you know, nose smile

Love the gold wheels. Be interesting to learn about the journey that took you from a Cavalier to a 458 Speciale!

Wow. As above, they look great but I would probably have specced gunmetal wheels - but don't change.

I hope you didn't get too fleeced on the way into ownership of what is, lets face it, the ultimate and last n/a supercar. All Lambos included. Never to be repeated (are you detecting hints of grief here that I didn't just stick my name down for a new one - correct).

I recall the F310B also wearing gold wheels for that entire F1 season. They look great and something different.
In the flesh, I know they look even better.

Well done, enjoy!
I have pretty much the same spec and worried about going gold wheels just before I took delivery.
But then I remembered alot of the NART cars raced with gold wheels, so having the NART stripe, I think the gold wheels are right.

Welcome to the fold.

The gold wheels work well with that shade of red and the NART stripe.

Enjoy.
