Finally used a main dealer hr Owen to service my ferrari
Only since this car is still full dealer service history otherwise I would have gone to my usual friends specialist

The service given was excellent from start to finish
My only gripe is cost
It doesn't cost just as much to have main dealer dominated in Europe. .. why is this?

I'm also slightly paranoid given my f430 is still under power warranty and they didn't find anything wrong with it I'm inclined to take it round to my friend specialist to have a 2nd look
I don't like the idea of warranty bits not being done!

Bit of a confusing post...

If you're not happy with the price, don't use them. Play one dealer off against another. IME as with everything in life there are deals to be done if you are prepared to put in a bit of legwork (e.g. joining FOC, etc), or simply do the whole "Dealer X is prepared to do that service for Y, but I'd rather use you guys because.."

Regards warranty work - if nothing is perceptibly wrong with the car why would you necessarily assume that there are things that need sorting?

Were you hoping they found something wrong with your car!?!?!?!? redface

I'd be chuffed if my car came back with no findings! Be happy you have a good example mate!

Yes +1 for that. Surely this is a good result for the OP.

I don't see any harm in getting a second opinion if you want one to reassure yourself and maybe he'll pick something up that the dealer missed, but personally I've always been happy when my various F cars over the years came back from an F dealer with a clean bill of health. They tend to nit pick and categorise really small things as advisory (e.g. wheel centre emblem slightly cracked and paint chip on edge of door where it was opened into something as on current exercise).

In the day and age of 7 year service plans I think the main dealers would love to find something that is repairable under warranty! It's easy money for them and a good source of income. IMHO no findings is bloody great!

Yep. Agree. Even if I had a main dealer history to keep, I'd just get them to do the menu work as I'd rather Paul Coster did the work as I trust him.

what price have posters negotiated from main dealers for a routine annual service on a 430?

Standard Annual Service, approx £800, JCT600 Leeds - The largest, 31,250 Service, again JCT600 Leeds - £1,450 (had this one done in April 2016). It wasn't really needed, as only at 21k miles but I just wanted to make sure the car was perfect!
