Manual gearchange - misaligned?
Discussion
I've just removed my 360's exhaust and have the gearchange is exposed.
Ever since having the car I've had to apply a bit of left pressure to engage 2nd gear. Not every time, but often a conscious left pressure is required. I've learnt to ignore it but would like to sort.
It's worse under hard acceleration. Especially coming out of 1st under heavy load, when it always happens. I wonder if it relates to engine movement/mounting under acceleration, perhaps in combination with imperfect shift alignment.
What can I do to look at this? Can anyone point me to guidance on the shift mechanism and perhaps checking and maintaining? As yet I can't even see if it's cable or rod operated.
Good task for a May Day!
