Been having a few problems getting into 1st and 2nd gear when the car was warm, so the dealer has done a gearbox oil change, made little difference, so as I expected going to changing the bush(s?) which hopefully should resolve.

Anyhow, one of the guys thought the clutch needed doing as well as its "quite heavy".

Car has done 24k miles and clutch doesn't slip in any gears, any thoughts?

Thanks.

That's how they are, comapred with a 'standard' car anyway. Mine was the same before and after a new clutch.

No problem. There should be plenty of wear left in your clutch but when you have it done eventually go for a Hill release bearing at the same time.

Try the cables, quite fine tolerances going out can cause this. An adjustment should solve it. I never had this on my 430 but an earlier 360 did need cables adjusting for the same symptom which was then solved.

Is it both 1st and 2nd i.e. when the stick is pushed left? I test drove one car that was just like you described, assumed it was this:

My eventual purchase had the Hill replacement already fitted.

+1

After some troubles to shift from Neutral to 1st and 1st to 2nd, we did a cable adjustment + gearbox oil change, now it is PERFECT on our manual F430 smile

That's correct - I believe that's what they have ordered.

Btw anyone know the best place to get a new gearknob? Or if the ones for the 360 fit?

Mine is not like that at all, it is very easy to get into any gear hot or cold ??

I think he was referring to the clutch feeling slightly heavier than "normal" cars.

Yes, sorry - to clarify I was referring to the clutch feel.

Gears should engage easily.

There is some adjustment at the gearbox end which is quite easy to do.
