Just wondered what the thinking is on buying a cat d 360 or is it throwing money away?

No matter what condition it's in, its only worth about 2/3rds of its normal retail value. Okay of you want to keep it forever, but when you come to sell it, you need to factor in that you will struggle to find a buyer and that it will be at a very reduced price. My experience (I have had a few CAT D & C vehicles in the past) is that you usually only sell to someone who has previously owned CAT vehicles, or if it's sold overseas then it's not an issue.
My advice is steer clear if it's your first time. particularly with a Ferrari.

I wouldn't bother mate, especially for that price. If it was £30k then yes. Speak to Tim at Walker Sports for an expert opinion on buying a CAT registered Ferrari. He will explain why its not the best idea.

If I were you, I would use that money and import a low mileage, looked after car from Europe.

hehe

I'm more surprised that there are 3 bids and it's at £55,000 redface

Can't imagine it would be an easy proposition to sell, you'd either be bid in the knees (rather than the usual balls) by dealers - franchised I doubt would touch it? - or you'd be facing selling it to someone asking the same questions and getting the same replies you're getting now.

It may well be a very nice car, and if you are to keep it forever, I don't see much of a problem owning it, but the value will always be affected by its history to sell it on, and so the market will be restrictive.

The car does not look mint. It was wrapped in grey at one point not sure how well that cam off, the wheels are wrong, the wrap is under the headlights and the side windows are tinted dark!! I guess that's a fair bit of money just to put that right again. Pretty sure this was bought last year for 40k in the wrapped state does anyone recall it being for sale? I cant find the ad. The owner to his credit has just don't over 8k at a Ferrari dealer having bits sorted, but I that trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear?

One guy who bid up to reserve with no intention of proceeding and more like no funds at all to proceed
