Take a look at all the new 12C etc owner threads in the McLaren area - some very happy ex-430 drivers

I did exactly this. When is sold my 430 I regretted it hugely. 6month later, bought the 12c and now don't regret a thing. 12c is insane, on another planet compared to 430. I won't be selling my 12c in a rush (except perhaps to get into a 650). Mines a 2012 car, I'd go with one of this. Much improved over 2011 and launch cars. Get one with decent mileage, previous owners will have dealt with any gremlins.

The 430 can't really compare with a next generation car from another manufacturer. Line up the 12c beside a 458 (as many many did, self included) and the comparison is fairer. Comparing a 12c to a 430 is like comparing a 430 to a 458. The 458 (speaking as one who loved his 430) is a light year ahead. And in my opinion (although I accept many would disagree) the 458 was an easy choice to make when compared side by side with a 12c.

I think the comparison that most sre making is on price as they are currently very similar.
car v car not a fair comparison which shows you what a bargain the 12c is currently or how overpriced most Ferraris are depending on your viewpoint

Absolutely spot on. You are paying for the prancing horse badge and heritage whereas the McLaren brand is still in its infancy therefore you get a much bigger bang for your buck currently.

This is rapidly changing though and McLaren brand awareness and appeal is currently the biggest growing car manufacturer, right up there with Kia motors biggrin

As Ive said occasionally rofl McLaren 12/650s is the next big thing in terms of future supercar values and I defy any one to come back in 10 years time and prove me wrong
