Have got a rattle at the front of the car (not a knocking) sounds like behind battery/foot well. The sound is like a nut and bolt inside a baked bean can. I have replaced the following
upper ball joints
lower ball joints
track rod ends
drop links
anti roll bar bushes
shock absorber bushes
All Hills engineering.......but still have this annoying rattle!
Any ideas?
Thinking of taking the wing liner out to have a look see if there's something bouncing around, also to remove battery cover and have a look there as well.

Going from your description it sounds too high pitched to be a suspension linkage. I'd jack it up, remove the wheel & guards, then check for anything that's obviously loose.

If its battery side (Passenger foot well). I had a bad rattle on my 430 which was caused by a control module which sits behind the passenger air bag on a plate. I cured it by putting a cable tie around it which helped it stay on its fixings. Dam pain to fix.

When you changed the lower shock bush did you change the bolt that secures it to the wishbone (the one the drop link screws into)? There was an updated version released at some point - I've had a look for the technical bulletin but can't find it right now. I should point out that this was to cure more of a squeak than a rattle though....

Can you get hold of some chassis ears? These are great for locating the source of an annoying noise.

Pretty sure its not the bolt that secures the drop link, but you never know!
What are chassis ears?
Going to have a look at the passenger air bag module see if that's loose.
Just to add my post says O/S I meant to say N/S (Passenger)

The inside of the cabin of a F430 can be bad for rattling. I had a rattle from the battery itself (held on by two pin brackets and bolts that weren't tight). The underside of the dash is bad for it as well.

Try one thing next time you are driving however - turn it onto Race mode and see if the rattle goes away? Hopefully it's not this, as it can never be fixed...

This rattle turned out to be the door glass mechanism, it had come loose and the glass when closed was rattling on a screw head at the back of the door mirror..........only just took a look as wanted to wait for warmer weather before pulling of door trim.

Thanks for posting your findings. I have a similar rattle in much the same location so will investigate as you did.

Presumably tightening the glass mechanism has fixed the issue for you?

If you open either door and give the glass a wiggle you can compare one to the other.. In my case one side had a lot more "play" than the other, so found out how to remove the door trim(quick search) and on removal went round tightening bolts here and there found a couple to be lose which cured the play which cured the rattle.
