Next Toy 458 Way To Go ?
Discussion
Looking for the next weekend toy, I currently have GTR35 650BHP GTR34 720ATW EVO7 Wide Body Road Race Reg 722BHP Will probably sell 35 and EVO to make way for the 458 ! I've owned a 430 Spyder and loved it but at the time didn't use it enough as I was worried about miles and depreciation ? Done most Porches and they are now silly money and also looked at the Macca MP4 but going off that idea!
I did consider another F430 but a good one looks close to a 458 so it seems a no brainer to go 458, the thought behind the 430 was I still want a little character in the car not just out and out relentless power, will the 458 make me smile and not be too cleaver and sterile ?
Thanks

Those are two outliers and are ultra low mileage spiders aimed at the collector's market! The general market seems to be at £80-95k for an F430.
OP back to your main question: I went to the 458 from a Gt3 and Gt3 RS, arguably two of the most fun cars around and I must say the 458 is extremely engaging and a very very loveable car. No regrets.

Sounding Good then, what I was saying is that 30k ish doesn't seem enough difference not to go for the 458!

I had a 430 great car but I was worried about known faults ie manifolds etc , so did very few miles in it sold it 10 months later for a 10 k profit and brought the best low mileage 458 with the spec a wanted and some as others have said night and day cars go try the 458 yes it may go down in the short term but it's an epic car price to change up was 60 k but the 458 had 1500 miles so as new , I could of saved £10.£15k on a higher mileage wrong spec .
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015... looks good. Only 11k miles, FFSH, and the spec a lot of people want.
458 v F430 is like chalk and cheese. F430 manual might be having its magic moment in terms of prices but its not a patch on a 458 and the DCT box in reality.
At some of today's prices I wouldn't even say its a guaranteed investment so if you want a car to drive and accept it could depreciate short term you cant do much better than a 458 unless you want to defect to the mighty McLaren

This can be purchased for £165k, 1900 miles, has barely been driven!

What £15k off the asking price ???? Who says McLarens are heavily discounted ?. Used Ferrari's do seem to be overpriced and not moving very quickly whereas McLarens are sensibly priced from the outset and turning over rapidly at near asking price.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...
I suppose its up to the dealer network to set out their trading stall and Ferrari dictate to the dealers used prices and discounts to a certain degree to protect the brand.
As with my experience buying new the discount from Ferrari was in reality actually greater than McLaren although that's not the perception

Why did you go off the McLaren? - have you driven a 650S? it is a huge upgrade on the MP4 and 10x more car for the money than the 458 if you are actually going to drive it (rather than polish it) JiggyJaggy said:

Personal preference, but HR Owen Knightsbridge were saying it is one of the most sought after combo's and has almost every conceivable extra by the looks of things with a 3 year warranty remaining. For re-sale it looks good to me, but someone has to love it to buy it
With the greatest respect I've never heard a salesman say "yes its an awful spec what the heck was the 1st owner thinking of when he chose that combo".Way too much red and non racing seats will make it difficult to shift IMHO
