F430 next service spring 2016
Discussion
Hi all,
Indy or main dealer?
I'm always worried about main dealers, they have massive pressure to inflate customers invoices so a curtesy call would follow soon after you drop your car off, in cheshire we are blessed with a few well recommended Ferrari independents at reasonable service prices.
My wife thinks do a proper job and go main dealer, can't deny that a main dealer major service stamp carries more desirability when welling on, after all my cat is main dealer all it's life bar the last 2 years!!!
Wonder what people thoughts are?

Build a good relationship with a good Indy IMO. It would make zero difference to me in terms of desirability (in fact I'd prefer it) but I appreciate not everyone feels the same.
I'd visit a few for a chat inc the dealers....
Adan Eyre (AE Performance in Knutsford) would get my recommendation......if you're looking at spring book early as he works alone.

Very interesting, 50/50 split currently
Most convenient for me is Stratstone Wilmslow, I have used Adam at AE Performance already, he fitted my AP Racing/FabSpeed manifolds
dvb247 - If you do use Stratstone Wilmslow please can you let me know what they are like? Most convenient for me is Stratstone Wilmslow, I have used Adam at AE Performance already, he fitted my AP Racing/FabSpeed manifolds
I'm in Sheffield so have the choice of JCT600 Leeds, Graypaul Nottingham, or Stratstone Wilmslow, all pretty much equidistant. In answer to your original question, I have an F430 Spider with full Ferrari Main Dealer History, while I'm sure there's some great independents out there, I'm simply not prepared to break the run of main dealer stamps, that so many people are rightly or wrongly reassured by.

If you must go main dealer, take a trip to Europe. Dealers there have a far higher standard of work than in the UK...
In a funny kind of way, the mileage placed on the car (in the current climate) will outweigh any perceived value in the main dealer stamp!!A great excuse for a road trip, although it's not such a quick dash to the coast as we have in the south east

My attitude depends on whether the car is in warranty of not. My car is still in the 2 year "New Power" warranty and it I think it would potentially cause more hassle than it is worth to get the service carried out by an independent if something goes wrong. As you have used non-Ferrari manifolds (as I would if outside warranty) I assume this isn't an issue for you. The temptation is to get regular servicing done by the main agent (thereby preserving the main dealer stamp record) and have a reputable independent carry out any additional work/repairs.
