Yesterday was the first day i got stuck in heavy traffic in that car and i found it to be absolutely horrendous, in automatic mode under the sport setting the car was starting from the first gear which was extremely jerky, and when i tried putting it in manual it wouldn't go to second gear at such low speeds. Does anyone face a similar problem ??

Did you not drive the car before you bought it?? Very odd.

I have driven it before buying it, but it was on an empty road so i was just flooring it and going through the gears so it was generally a different experience.

Well, I guess you've learnt something for the future about exploring a car on all types of road before parting with the cash.

Try posting on the Fezza forum - more likely to get some helpful responses there

Can't you take it out of sport mode? I imagine its trying to stick to 1st gear based on your speed assuming you're about to floor it...

Lovely car OP - very nice.

I have no experience of a Speciale (frown) however try letting the car creep in first before accelerating.

My car can be jerky in first however if you let it creep for a second or so, it'll change into second and voila, I can drive away smoothly.

P.S. Yes, post on the Ferrari specific forum.

I don't have an answer but I've got a question; why the flip were you in sport mode while in heavy traffic?

In fact I do have an answer: I'd bet your problems stem from using sport in conditions it's not designed for.

Wouldn't it make more sense turning it to whatever approximation of "waft mode" is on the manettino?

Put the manettino in wet and it's fine in traffic.

To be honest Jim I've done it myself plenty of times before. You tend to get to like a certain mode, sport in my Ferrari or Track for the power train mode in my Mac and you just sort of leave it there most of the time. Haven't driven a Speciale but as said the Auto box is probably trying to change aggressively (although you'd think with something this clever it could tell you were shunting about in traffic).
I've never used auto in any of my cars, I'll have to try it next time in traffic.

Per an earlier post, in traffic I leave in WET mode and it's fine. AUTO in town traffic is a big ask given nature of car. Only time I use AUTO is on very long motorway runs.

I've never noticed any problem idling about in traffic in auto or manual, wet or sport. Maybe its a calibration thing?

Me either. I've been amazed how comfortable and easy the car is in general use. I expected it to be a more difficult proposition on longer runs. I've had numerous drives where I'm behind the wheel for around 6-8 hours and get out in good shape, though often exhilarated!

When you feel the need it's the most brilliant and rewarding car to drive.

Bumpy road setting = witchcraft!

I'm sure the magnorheollogical dampers have something to do with it!

I've only really been very stuck in traffic on the way down to spa, once. And has been suggested previously, into wet mode on the manittino and then forget about it. I always allow some space in front, so that I can make sure that the clutch is fully engaged.....but I think that comes from driving Lamborghinis 's !

+1. I've been all around Europe in mine and stuck in traffic for hours. Even in sport mode it should be fine.

I would get it looked at

Op , sad you got the didn't you try kind of answer, sadly this shows the darker more selfish side of piston heads, try it in another mode, or reset it , or maybe for peace of mind just get her checked out, sure she's fine, Mike

Me too 2500 in Europe and used auto on long boring autoroutes and in city traffic. Always use the bumpy setting even on some tracks. Amazes me how gentile the car is.

Sounds to me like you have a problem tbh
