Hi- looking to update the head unit and speakers in the car to a more current (iPod ready) and new speakers. Don't want to spend crazy money but want something a bit better than is in there and now v old. What is the standard set up? Has anyone done an upgrade and is v pleased with the outcome ? Any recommendations?

I know some people just say listen to the engine but would quite like a decent sound system for occasional use

I stuck a Kenwood in mine which is OK - iPod, BT etc. Not sure it sounds any better (I haven't changed the speakers) but it gave me the ability to connect the iPod which is what I really wanted. Was under £200 for the head unit I think and its a very simple swap.

Why not just stick an ipod wire in the cd changer socket at the back ? Works fine on that era Becker

If it's any good to you I have a purpose built subwoofer box for sale that fits behind the seats on the shelf. It has the amp and sub speaker all ready to do. Is carpeted in red to match the carpets and has been well made, I'm guessing someone paid out a small fortune for it new.

I had a new head unit put into my Countach. Can't remember exactly what it is (Sony or Kenwood I think) was about £200 has USB ports & Aux cable. Both of which would allow you to play your ipod.
