Guys,

Can someone tell me if the 458 has CD, DVD and USB? What is the best format / bit rate for music and do you have to transfer the music from the USB to the HDD, before listening?

Thanks

I just bought an iPod (the proper iPod, whatever it's called, not the touch or nano) which has a huge capacity. Stuck all my music on it (everything) and plugged it in in the glove box. Job done. Just control it through the left screen. My Spider has the standard stereo which works fine, sounds great for me.

I think mine has CD but I've never used it. There is a USB port but again, never used it. I think it has a HDD too, again never used it.

+1

iPod (Classic, I suspect same as _Leg_) 160GB plugged into the port, sorted. I too have never used the CD player, HDD or USB port, haven't felt the need to.

Out of interest - does the Spider/MY11 dash upgrade (iPod control is on the right screen for me) get rid of that bloody annoying "feature" where pressing previous track once doesn't restart the current track but actually goes to the previous one? First world problems I know, but it's irritating.

Cheers Guys, Unfortunately i do not use an iPod, all my devices are android. My wife has iPods but they have not been used in years, don't think we even have iTunes anymore.

Was wondering if streaming from USB was possible, or do i have to transfer then to the HDD first?

I don't know of any system that does that, they all go to the start of the current track i think.

That's what I mean, on the (my?) 458 selecting "previous track" at any point during the current song goes to the previous track instead of restarting the current one. Unless I'm going mad on most systems (car or otherwise) pressing "Previous Track" restarts the current track and if you press it again quickly it actually goes to the previous track.

edit: FerrariChat thread seems to suggest that you have to copy it off a USB to the HDD.

Ferrari's are always special hey smile

Ah cool, thanks for the find. That makes sense. They said it reads DVDs also, 1 DVD will hold a lot of music. I only have the car for the day, but have some tedious motorway trips to do in between the fun roads, will be clocking up 400 miles.

Hi Mr Leg

Is that your garage on petrolicious?

I followed you garage build thread and it looked familiar ~ btw it is rather lovely with a nice collection of motors too.

Top job Sir.

Thank you sharing
