F430 parking sensors fault
Discussion
Hi
So, after years of dreaming I have at last made it onto the Ferrari ladder with the purchase of a F430 coupe (Rosso plus Nero, with Challenge Wheels). My smile muscles have had a work-out for the past few days!
Only one glitch so far - the parking sensors don't seem to work. Also, when I push the button (for the front sensors) the LED doesn't come on. And yes, I have checked that the sensors are fitted.
Are there any simple things to check? Otherwise, it will be back to the dealer - but it's a long trek and would involve a ferry and several hours of driving.
Regards,
Micky

Hello Micky, glad you are enjoying your car.
I had exactly the same issue with my F430 last year. Checked by main dealer purchased from (Ferrari warranty). If one sensor is faulty (either front or back- in my case 2 fronts) then this results in issues both you and i have/had. I.e. Nothing works! Short delay for me whilst replacement sensors ordered. Ferrari deciding to change them all on the front to be safe. They then had to be sent to the paint shop to be painted, returned and fitted. 10 days off the road but better dealt with than left as will need addressing at some time.
I think from memory the red light on the button may have lit up when the ignition was first switched on, but subsequent pressing seemed to do nothing? I was hoping it was just a fuse, but that would have been too easy.
Checking my paperwork, the warranty claim was over £800...... Good luck,
Gary

Thanks Gary
I had another look last night - what is happening is that when the ignition is turned-on, the back-light behind the parking sensor button flashes between green/amber for about 30 seconds - and then stays green. The red LED never comes on - and pressing the button doesn't do anything. Even when in reverse the rear sensors don't work.
I'll give the dealer a call and see what they want to do about it - it's an approved car with Ferrari warranty so hopefully they will resolve it.

Micky
