Just picked up my 2008 F430 F1 coupe and driven back 1000km to the UK. - What an EPIC car!

Can anyone help me by sending a copy of their V5 - I know it sounds as dodgy as hell.

Of course cover up your address/chassis number/ name etc.

I'm filling in the V55 DVLA form so the vehicle data info would be really useful.

is it not on your CoC? 08 Car will need one or an IVA if an EU car.

I havent seen the COC in the book pack, I will look tonight but I dont think I have it.

When I did the 575, 355 and E-type - I used the number on the Registration Document, but these are over 10 years old.

You don't need a COC if over 10 years old.

I imported a 9 year 11 month old F430 a few months ago and kept it in the garage for a month as it was a lot easier to sort UK registration.

From memory, I was told that to get a CoC you can ask the official ferrari dealer you bought it through to contact Maranello and get one for you as a favour or you need to contact Ferrari yourself and they charge a few hundred quid to send you one. I didn't go down that route as didn't need to so please take that advice as half baked.

My dealer did send me a form which he said would be good enough to act as a CoC - it wasn't. It was titled "SUPPLIERS DECLARATION FOR PREFERENCIAL ORIGINATING GOODS Regulation (EEC) no 1207/2001

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.

All the info that is usually on a V5, but just looked at my other cars V5's there is very little on there.

Looks like I will have to buy this COC from Ferrari. Is the COC number the same for all 430s? this is what I need:

Type Approval
Number/Category
Details
Take this information from the Certificate of Conformity. If the vehicle does not need
evidence of type approval because of how it is constructed, leave blank and fill in
section 50 on page 2. If you are providing a Single Vehicle Approval (SVA), Individual
Vehicle Approval (IVA), or Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) certificate, the
DVLA will record the information in the ‘Official Use Only’ boxes on the form.

So in essence, just the Type Approval Number

Page 3 and 4 is all the information I need to give, I remember that I didnt fill in all the details for the other cars I have imported. It's all stuff that could be found on line, but If anyone has a 430, I'd like to get it as accurate as possible using a car that was first registered in the UK:

In the notes, the only things you need to send are copies if your I.D and the original registration doc.. - nothing about COC

There must be someone on here who has imported a <10yr old 430?

I found the DVLA very helpful on the phone when I had any queries. Maybe call them and have a chat - they'll be able to tell you what they will/wont accept.

It seems I just need to get the Certificate of Conformity, it's something you can only get from Ferrari directly.

I've put some pressure on the supplying dealer, so hopefully that will come through, if not, I will just buy it from Maranello.

Thanks

or use jack at mycar import!

iva the car wihtout a COC and get it registered that way!

i am doing this at the moment with a 599 i have just purchased which is a 2006 model.

coc takes longer to get than an IVA and costs a hell of a lot more!

It may be cheaper, but it seems there is a lot of Faff involved with getting the car inspected, it's £600 Inc VAT from Maranello. I'd rather do that then spend a day taking the car to get tested (at cost)

The COC is only half the battle... Wait till you start dealing with the now faceless DVLA - NIGHTMARE and you'd have wished (as I did) you'd just handed it over for inspection / mycarimport earlier.

Plus - as they go the IVA route you'll only pay £260 PA in road tax so it'll pay for itself in a couple of years...

No brainer.

Interesting RE the IVA.

I've already ordered the COC now, so will have to see how that goes.

What issues have you faced with the DVLA?

I got the 355 V5 this week after about 6 days, the 575 came within 10 days.. My E type was a complete doddle (although this was a UK RHD car previously registered in the UK). The 355 was first bought/registered in Germany, by its first owner and then exported to NL by it's second owner. It came with it's COC.

I know this is a newer car (<10 Years) but I've spoken to the DVLA twice about it (Both times I've got through and been put through to the right department, and they have been extremely helpful)

Maranello Egham have been extremely helpful, I spent 20 mins taking photos of the car, emailed to them and they have ordered the COC.

I ordered the COC on Thursday last week and it arrived yesterday. 6 Days, is not bad. It seems to be all in order, so I will be sending out today.
