Question for 355/360 GTS/Spider owners

What are they like in terms of in-car temperature on really hot days? Is the aircon any good, or are you still sitting in an oven!? Very close to taking the plunge. Live near Geneva, so summer temps can be pretty roasting.
Also, does anyone know how I would go about sorting out a Pre-Purchase Inspection on a car in Europe? Have got a few in mind and they're all over the place! Thanks in advance. Mark

Are you looking at EU or Swiss spec cars - you'll struggle to register EU in Switzerland

Either way usual principle applies: find disinterested party nearby - or if you are feeling really paranoid fly one of the Uk specialists out

355GTS owner. The air con doesn't compare with newer stuff but does give a noticeable chill. When it's really hot, I tend to leave it off in traffic to ease the water temperature. Not an issue as soon as you're moving though.

Another 355 owner (spider) my air con is freezing, on our trip to goodwood a couple of years ago the only issue with the heat was that the number plate fixings melted off and the plate fell off !!

Just make sure the rads are newish otherwise you will cook the engine !!

Thanks for your replies. I live in France near the Swiss border, so am looking at cars in Eurozone. Haven't quite decided whether to go 355 or 360 yet. Lots of compelling reasons for both, but sure I'll be pleased either way.

The air con in my 360 seems fair, its not as good as my C63 but it does the job, i wouldn't really complain!
