Not my car but looks great in all black. Nice spec too.

Was it a factory option to have rear diffuser and front bumper intake panels in gloss black? or something thats been modified?

No - the wheels, diffuser, and front bumper have been painted.

2008 onwards cars do have gloss back A pillar trims IIRC, but that was it.

Unfortunately not understanding it is neither here nor there so long as the market continues to dictate that these cars should seldom be driven.

'Tis a bit of a shame really, and quite perverse, can't think of many emotional pursuits in life where there is such a huge obsession about preservation for the benefit of the next owner, rather than just enjoying it yourself. Each to their own though I guess.

I've said it before, I've had many Ferraris ranging from 10,000 miles to 60,000 miles. The high milers never gave me any trouble and went like rockets, the low mile ones were grumpy, not as smooth to drive and developed oil leaks from standing still and hoses/brake parts not being used. My 575 Manual was over 40,000 when I sold it and I think the new owner is close to 60,000 and it was the very best example of that model.

As with many things in life it's generally people who don't have the ownership experience that make assumptions..

Obviously my numbers are complete rubbish.

But if a low mileage example increases in value at 10%/pa and sensibly used example increases by 5%.
Surely that is a no brainer....5% increase in value...PLUS you get to use and enjoy something special.
There can't be many things in life that can give you that sort of return.

Colour coding of bumper & diffuser was done by a main dealer before I bought the car. Used to be on gloss black challenge wheels but switched to the Scud pattern for a change. Never liked black wheels before, but loved the look so much on that particular F430, I had to have the Scud wheels finished the same.

Looking at those pictures now, I do miss her. I think that shape just keeps getting better with age. And those CCM look so damn good behind those wheels!

Ha, great coincidence! Love the scuderia alloys in black, very nice and a big upgrade over the challenge wheels I think.

I definitely should be spending a bit more time driving the car though wink

Now sold, sad to see it go - what a fantastic looking car it was.

Buyer got a fair deal in the end, great car for the money.

Now to decide what to go for next...!

I'm with you. My 458 Spider is a year old now and Ive put 7300 miles on it. I intend to rack up many, many more miles.

If I wanted something to look at in the garage I could've had a poster for £2.99.

It's like pulling Margot Robbie and never shagging her. What's the f*cking point?

sticking with the brand or fancy a change? there is all sorts about! I guess very much dependent on budget! Fancy a 12c or 458?

Thinking this might be my final year of F430 ownership, and time to move on....

Out of interest what was the selling experience like? I've never sold a Ferrari before so don't know whether to sell privately, or contact the traders?

I put it on Auto Trader and Pistonheads, not sure where the enquiries came from, but had 3 people call in the one week it was for sale, I think they were all at least relatively serious. One agreed a price of £80k by the phone, but then didn't get back to me. Then the buyer who did purchase it got in touch and came to view and agreed a price there.

But it can't hurt to put it up for sale at a reasonable price for a few weeks and see what happens. If no luck, keep it a bit longer or just trade it in. I don't think it's the easiest car in the world to sell privately though, I felt a little lucky to find an easy buyer who I agreed a fair price with. Especially as they live in the same town as me! If it hadn't worked I would have kept the car for another year.
