Another F430 manifold quandary!!
Discussion
Apologies in advance and YES I've read all the old posts on this subject but still have questions to ask.
So far this is my understanding of my choices
1. OEM mk2's = Will break again so NO
2. Capristo = To expensive and don't like the nappy, NO
3. Refurb existing = To expensive and lack confidence with this solution, NO
4. AP Racing manifolds with Zerotec coating = a recommend solution, great value, A CONSIDERATION
5, Nouvalari manifold on eBay = No idea about this make??
6. Capristo bracket set = should this be done whatever manifolds you choose???
Is there any other recommend solutions out there I haven't considered? would hate to pull the trigger and then find that someone has some manifolds at £250 available with free fitting haha!!!

AP manifolds with the coating. They fit well and I've not had problems with any sets I've fitted so far. I have a car coming in this week for a pair to be fitted, I'll post up a couple of pics if you want.
I'd also go for the capristo mount and ditch the original crap iron-mongery that passes for the original mounts...

Excellent, my research appears to be spot on, to know that this is a solution recommended, tried and tested gives me the confidence I need before purchase.
Just seems an obvious thing to do purchasing the Capristo brackets, had to ask all the same. can you tell me what you charge for the fitting job inc parts? PM if you'd prefer?
Thanks Cerberaherts

It's not bolted to the chassis. The bracket is bolted to the chassis then springs independently suspend the exhaust. The standard brackets don't work, and are very substandard quality...
The first version of the capristo bracket used solid silicon bushes which distorted and sheared the mounting studs off. The subsequent units suffer no common failures.

It is me who has said that I think the Capristo brackets are a step in the wrong direction. I don't like the way they are affixed to the chassis (and I recognise that it is via a spring). At some point I'll design and manufacture a solution that allows for the expansion whilst remaining affixed to the PU - it's one of many on my list of things to do.
Give https://www.facebook.com/originfab?fref=ts a try. He's done a few sets already and very nice welding.

Ahh, he's currently making a set of 100 cel HJS cat sections for my car. Very good fabricator.voicey said:

I'm always surprised Capristo didn't adapt the Scud/16M bracket which is mounted to the engine/gearbox - I'm sure there is a good reason.|http://thumbsnap.com/mGm7GZ5h

It's not the perfect solution, but it's the best we have on the market at the moment. Just last week I had another 430 with yet more broken mounts, This was this cars third set. Whilst the Capristo mount isn't the most elegant of solutions it does stop lateral forces being applied to the collector point of the manifolds due to thermal expansion. The tailpipes on a Capristo mount-equipped car actually grow in length from the rear of the bumper much more than the standard fixings, which shows just how much force is being applied to the manifolds. All they needed to do was to use the CS mounting system and put a flexible joint on one end of the cats and all of this could have been avoided..Edited by Cerberaherts on Tuesday 19th May 18:35
They are on there way, 3100USD, the Zercotec is much more than first quoted, £695 +vat but I understand they are the best in the business, I'm edging toward RED, not concerned with a colour match at all, think they look great!!
Will let you know what the final bill come to after fitting costs

I had arrived at the same conclusion re AP manifolds, I would be interested to hear where you plan to get them from and what the eventual landed price is?

More questions!!!
At least this thread will answer all Q's before other F430 owners go their own way, like death and taxes ALL F430 OWNERS WILL GO THROUGH IT!!!

7. Challenge OEM manifolds? only £800+vat per side, maybe use Zercotec coating on them also???
8. Capristo will not sell the nappy or their brackets separately, why not?
9. Anyone else sell a sprung bracket solution?

Separately to what? Surely the brackets are a stand alone product to fit the stock exhaust? Many owners have fitted them without changing manifolds as well.http://www.capristo.de/en/exhaustsystems/ferrari/4...
