Hello All,

For the moment I have a standard car cover that I put on my 430 while it's in the garage.

I am a little concerned about putting it on the car as soon as I have parked as the engine lid is hot and there is hot air coming from the vents. Is it likely to cause damage to the paint or anywhere if the hot air is held/trapped by the cover?

N.B - It is UK registered as of today (hooray!) so will post up some pics of my purchase soon. I didn't want to do so prior to getting all the paperwork sorted!

I don't use the car cover unless the car has just been washed and dried. At best you will get the car cover lining filthy at worst you can introduce scratches on the paint finish.

Certainly never with a hot engine.

As above, only use a cover with a perfectly clean car...

I park in an underground residents garage so that's not possible after most trips.

problem is there is a cat that seems to LOVE walking over the car. Probably because it's warm!

Thanks for the advice

I know what you mean regarding putting the red indoor cover on when you just get home. I do it quite a bit and I've never had any issues whatsover. It lives in an underground and I have to drive to my folks house from SW London to Herts to wash it, so it's never perfectly clean when it goes on either. Again, never noticed anything detrimental. I just factor in a yearly detail into the running and try not to worry about it too much.
