My F430 spider f1 always starts in auto mode. When I start her up I then switch it to manual and away we go.. Not really an issue for me, just wondered if you can set it so that it starts in manual? It's a late 07 car if that helps..
Cheers

I had one for 5 years and never found a way around it.
Lovely car though.

Can't speak for all 430's as I'm sure there are differences but my 16M has 2 modes at startup - 'Automatic' or 'Auto Easy Exit'. If you drive in manual, the next time you start it will be in 'Auto Easy Exit' which is manual mode at the point you pull a paddle - you never need to push the Auto button if you wish to always drive in manual mode, mine is always a manual car.

If I remember right, mine started in neutral on auto then went into manual when using the paddle shift. I don't recall having to switch off auto on the centre console

I have a 2007 f430 and it works just like the above info , starts in easy auto and if you drive off and change gear a few times the auto option disappears from the dash.

Your right.. I was out in it today and it starts in auto, but as soon as pull the paddle and begin driving it as a manual the auto light goes out!
Thanks all
