LHD CS Arrived - Can anyone help with details for V5?
Discussion
Hi All,
Having thought I had missed the boat with the CS, having lusted after one for a long time, I have just bought a LHD relatively high mileage (40k miles ) example from Italy. It was delivered this week and am now going through the process of registration. I've completed the HMRC Nova without problems, booked the MOT for after the BH weekend then I'll be at the mercy of the DVLA. I've started filing all the paperwork, I don't need a CofC as the car is over 10 years old, and I understand Ferrari charge a fortune for them. So I was wondering whether anyone can help, when I go to complete the paperwork to get the V5 there are a number of boxes I am struggling to find the info for - normally it is info on the CofC I think. Has anyone got one they are willing to copy/send me a photo of - obviously with personal info/chassis/engine numbers blacked out. I’d really appreciate it. That will help get on the road soon! Can't wait to compare first drives to all the experiences on here!
Cheers,
Gareth

I'm sure I've read somewhere that because the car is more then ten years old most of the boxes can be left blank but its worth a double-check by phone to DVLA to make sure exactly which are needed - you might get help by looking here or online for the form V55/5 which I think is the one you need to fill in now and others may have posted more specific advice

I've just bought a 2001 360 Mod F1 that everyone is telling me I need a COC for...
Post 1 disagrees so not everyone !This appears to be a government document (admittedly from about 2003) that in para 2.1 does not mention CoC as a requirement http://www.import-car.info/images/dftguide.pdf

You don't need a CofC. If I remember correctly the order is as follows, you first bring the car into UK. Secondly you notify HMRC, no import duties or VAT payable if it was originally registered/purchased within the EU. If you then ring the DVLA they'll send you a importation pack. Get insurance on the chassis number and book MOT - you 'may' need to change speedo dials to MPH and you will need to through a switch the lights to left side of the road driving, (very easy - see handbook) - otherwise straightforward. When you get the importation pack give the DVLA a ring concerning which boxes are critical, as if the car is over 10 years old you do not need a CofC and all the associated info, however I rang them and they listed which boxes I must fill in. The one mistake I made was not registering as a 'PLG' - if you try as a petrol car you need a CofC for the emissions rating. (PLG is cheaper on the tax so don't make that error). Mine came back on Sat, straight to Halfords for the plates and an awesome first drive on Sat!
Thanks. I've already got the info from DVLA but my main issue is that it asks for information which is apparently on the COC which of course I don't have, such as Type Approval number, Variant, Version, etc etc. This must all be common between 360s which was why I asked if someone would be willing to share the data - how else do I get this information if not from the COC?

This is correct many of the boxes can be left blank, I will have a look at mine tomorrow and see if I can shed any light Phib
Sounds like you already know but form V55/5 is only available on request and is not web downloadable. If you only fill in what you know DVLA will either accept it or return it with the reason/s. This could be an easier plan than stressing on what might be required. I went through similar rearlier in the year and was surprised as to how unstructured the DVLA works.
