F430 Warranty Extension
Discussion
Warranty runs out in 30 days and struggling to decide if I should extend for 12 months for £2760 inc VAT. Had manifolds changed to mk2 and variator sensors which had oil ingress replaced too - so has been worth it so far.
The newly introduced warranty product seems much better than the old and covers the following:
Roadside Recovery Service will be provided at the same conditions of the Manufacturer’s Warranty
Engine: Engine crankcase & and all internal components, cylinder head(s) and valvetrain, oil radiator (s), head gasket (s), oil sump and oil pump, variable valve timing adjusters, solenoid valves. (oil seals and oil leaks in general excluded)
Ignition/Injection: Oxygen Sensors, secondary air system (secondary air pump and valves only), ionising ECU
F1/Mechanical Gearbox: Gearbox casing and differential housing (s) including all internal components, F1 Power Unit: Electric pump, valves; actuator, ECU, selected and engaged gear sensor (oil seals and oil leaks in general are excluded)
DCT Gearbox: Gearbox including all internal components and ECU (oil seals and oil leaks in general excluded)
Power Transmission Unit: ECU, clutch (rubber gaiters excluded) PTU: including all internal components (oil seals and oil leaks in general excluded)
Suspension & Steering: complete steering box, suspension arm joints power steering pump (excluding drive belts), suspension arm joints, toe-in-tie-rod, ECU for controls on steering wheel (oil seals and oil leaks in general excluded)
Cooling System: Water pump, fans (leaks in general are excluded)
Air Conditioning/heating: AC system control devices, AC compressor and AC system ECU.
Electrical System: alternator, starter motor, ignition coil, Engine ECU, Gearbox ECU, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, power window motors.
Fuel and Induction system: injectors, throttle bodies, air flow sensor, intake manifold, pressure regulator, temperature sensors, fuel pipes, fuel pumps
Brake System: hydraulic brake pump, brake pressure regulator and servo
Bodywork: RHT roof function (wear, bodywork and paint defects, seals and water infiltration in general are excluded)

Always a toss up between slush find vs peace of mind I think.
Some people are at ease with a higher risk profile than others. I wouldn't personally run a car like this without the Ferrari warranty, even with some awareness of its limitations. The fact the OEM manifolds are a "not if, when" timebomb would justify the cost for me.
There is also the added benefit of it being transferable to a new buyer (if sold privately). Again, wouldn't buy private without it - or at least the reassurance that it would pass the inspection to get one.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Like any insurance policy if you don't claim you've essentially lost that money, but I don't really view it that clinically.

Exhaust manifolds still aren't covered.I bought the Ferrari warranty to cover the first year of my F430 ownership as the dealer warranty was rubbish. Haven't bothered after that as the fact that Ferrari are prepared to offer warranties 12 years after production ends means they aren't seeing many claims. It wouldn't make financial sense to them if these cars were problematic.
You might be unlucky but I'd stick the money in the bank.
