288 GTO - 4L normally aspirated
Discussion
Just for fun, how do you think the GTO would be viewed today if Ferrari had gone with a 4 litre naturally aspirated V8 engine for the GTO instead of the turbo? Under the Group B regs they could have gone that way if that had wanted and there is a lot of back chatter about how Ferrari was fighting an uphill battle with a 2WD car anyway (lets not debate this point) so what if they had forgone turbos? All the talk about F1 associations are very nice but I can't imagine that many of us would remember the F1 cars of the time that well.
Do you think the car would be better to drive? Would it be more highly valued?
