Where do people EXERCISE their Ferraris?!!
Discussion
I can't spell! And I cannot see how to change the title of a topic, so let's try again!
I have just bought an F430 Spider. Love it! However, it is far too fast to be able to use much of its performance on the road, and it seems to me that the standard exhaust will be too noisy for most UK circuits. So where do people go to give their cars some good exercise?

The standard exhaust is fine for most 105 db days which covers a few dates at most UK tracks (eg Owners Club Silverstone & most RMA type track day organisers) if not that many of the days in their schedule (most are 99 db approx) - sometimes Brands can be OK especially on the short circuit at 102 db - Blyton seems to have a very liberal regime....
Or go to Europe

I suspect most of us owners in various parts of the country have a special route! My route takes me on a B road around some wonderful Suffolk. Countryside.
I drive my 360 with courtesy to others, and with 100 percent concentration and keep mostly to the various speed limits, but, because it's such a quiet road with mostly good visibility of corners and the exits to them it allow for very spirited driving, and to be honest it's more fun in the Boxster than the 360 , but the 360 has some kind of magic about it that makes it more special.
I do not know about track days, I would not trust myself on one of those, it would be like skiing, I would push myself beyond my skills and crash, Mike

Well put Mike!!
I so love the term, "spirited driving"
As a qualified National B licence holder, and soon to be Ferrari owner, ,my feeling is, never the two shall cross, stick to "spirited driving" unless you are completely happy to bin your car driving to the max on a race track or race series, which I was, thankfully I was in the Ford challenge series for me but still expensive lol

Well, you knew me, Mark! Yes it's me. You will be sorry to hear that I can drive the Ferrari in proper race boots though, so the slippers are reserved for the Caterham! Are we three the only ones on this forum who realise that the Ferraris are not really very fast relative to our other toys?
Bring it along to the Ferrari Owners Club track days. We offer free instruction and with purely Ferrari's on track you don't get buzzed by those west-cather-cals with bike engines.
We are at:
Silverstone GP Circuit - 28 April
Goodwood - 6 June
Oulton Park - 21 July
Silverstone - 22 Sept
If you really enjoy it, buy yourself a 355 challenge and come racing in the Aston Intermarque.

Keith, good to hear from you again, I still have my trusty Cat VX in the garage but will be taking delivery of a 355 challenge in about 10 days. The Caterham is probably the faster car but the F is a beauty, the sound is to die for and it's been a childhood dream anyway. Hope to see again in the future!

Marius

Hey, Marius - I didn't realise it was you! Why don't you come out to play (in Caterham or the 355 at Barcelona and Valencia in September with Bookatrack? Mr Swift and many others will be there.
I clearly agree that speed isn't everything. The F430 is wonderful - even the smell inside the thing when it has been left closed up for a few days is lovely!! I have always had a soft spot for Ferraris, and it shows no sign of going away...

Definitely bring them out with FOC.

Usually 105 db, plenty of cars from all decades. If you have a standard exhaust you will be fine.
