As topic really. I vaguely remember seeing somewhere that in order to qualify for Ferrari Power warranty an F430 F1 car needs to have no more than 55% clutch wear reported.

That said I could've been completely imagining that.

Thanks in advance smile

Clutch being a wear and tear item isn't covered so doubt it matters.

Thanks. Am looking at a car with a main dealer which is reported as having 60% clutch wear. I realise that doesn't mean it's undriveable, but one would assume it would mean it would need to be replaced sooner rather than later (and certainly if/when I came to sell). Wasn't sure if that was fairly typical of examples at in the Ferrari Approved network.

Could have another ten or twenty thousand miles but you never know so why not just negotiate a new one into the deal now

Does anyone else have any experience of dealing with Ferrari with this - e.g. putting your car in for the Power warranty, trading it in to them for it to become "Approved Used"? Is "55% wear for Approved Used" a thing?

Have spoken to the dealer briefly today and they are suggesting that at 60% it doesn't need changing, and by extension wouldn't attract any money off the price, and that "until it's 90% worn we wouldn't look to change it". I realise it probably doesn't need changing in the same way tyres with <3mm tread don't need changing, but they've done that...

I've read that it can start popping into neutral on shifts at ~70%. I wonder to myself if the shoe was on the other foot and I was taking a private car to them for trade in, with 60% wear, whether they'd use that as a reason to bid lower?

Thoughts?

say you'll buy as a condition of sale?

Was planning to say that anyway really, as it would be on my mind otherwise, but I'm already trying to negotiate a deal so need to make sure that I can speak confidently about it. Figured if other owners have had Ferrari bidding them lower on the basis of a 55%+ wear clutch, under the auspices of "having to change it to comply with the Approved programme" then I could use that as ammunition in my negotiations.

I was always led to believe that @ 60% plus then the clutch would have to be changed to meet the approved standard....however that wasn't yesterday.
