Seen the other thread regarding 08's and various ones discussed but not this one. Wondering if anyone knows it otherwise will give them a call.
Thanks in advance!

Do you have a chassis number and/or number plate? I'd be able to look it up in my database with either of these.
Otherwise, the car has been for sale since July and the price has been steadily reduced...
July ----> £94k
August --> £90K
Sept ----> £90k
October -> £86k
Nov -----> £83k
Dec -----> £83k
Jan -----> £83k

Would the brakes have been changed from ceramic back to 'normal' at a service due to cost?
How much are the ceramic brakes to replace?
Unlikely at 14,000 miles they should be like brand new. From memory mine had 5% wear at 12,000 miles.How much are the ceramic brakes to replace?
Expensive ( circa £10k probably ) to replace but if you were cost cutting you would only do it at the time not in advance.
Probably an old MY stock unit from 2007 that hung around and was registered later. Maybe cancelled order or something at time but nothing to be worried about if car checks out and you don't want ceramics and its reflected in the price.
Personally I prefer the ceramics but they don't carry a massive premium used. If its a couple of grand less than equivalent 2008 ceramic brake cars but meets all your other criteria it wouldn't be a concern and a potential bargaining tool for another couple of grand off ( obviously telling them they are worth £10k more )
I enquired about this car back in early November and was told the following:
- Registered 5/3/2008 (08 plate)
- Clutch wear at last service reported at 40%
- Front tyres new, rears done 3000 miles ago (dealer unspecific about tread depth)
I'm sure the ad at one point said that the car had 12 months Ferrari warranty, but doesn't now?
Haven't seen the car in the flesh nor had a PPI done on it so can't comment on condition.
Dealer said manifolds were replaced under warranty (again by Ferrari Colchester) but didn't say when, and also said that he thought he saw "Capristo" on paperwork, but never confirmed that to me.
The vibe I got was that they didn't seem particularly interested in selling the car?

If you go to the ad and click the History Check link (immediately above the Specs) then, more often than not, it will display the registration. In this case, the reg is H7BML. I have the chassis number if you need it. I don't have very much on this car myself. Only seen it once, a couple of years ago.Jonathan

Consensus seems to be that F1 clutches ought to last around 20k miles if driven considerately, though I guess it would be possible to make them last longer (and certainly much shorter), so 40% wear at 14,500 miles - assuming it's not had a clutch change - doesn't sound bad at all imo.
Bear in mind that was recorded at the last service back in April 2014, so it may well have changed in that time.

Thanks for the info!
Would the clutch wear seem excessive at only 14,500 miles?
Would ask about brakes and manifolds and check paperwork if I was to enquire.
The readings are indicative and not necessarily accurate but at 10,000 miles mine was 24% however I was extremely gentle with her and always avoided reversing uphill, knocked it into neutral at standstill etc... to prolong the life. Would the clutch wear seem excessive at only 14,500 miles?

You could easily get more than 20,000 out of the clutch IMHO. My wear rate suggests closer to 40,000 miles if very careful
Ok, thanks again all.
Would the brakes put a lot of people off come sale time? Is that why it hasn't sold already?
Any idea how much a clutch change is? Just trying to find out independant and dealer prices!
Been PM'd that the brakes require changing! That seems odd from the comments above about how long they should last? With that and the clutch wear has this possibly been a hire car? Will call the seller later today and see what they say.

A properly set up and considerately driven F1 clutch should last a lot longer than 20k miles!
I was going by information posted on hereRegards the brakes, it's not the only 08 car I've seen without ceramics. You might find that some people are put off or scared of the replacement cost of ceramics, others might be very keen on them. You could make the same point about Daytona seats vs the CF sports ones.
If I had to guess I would assume as was said earlier that this was actually a MY07 car that was registered late. For what it's worth Marque 1 said to me in email when I asked about the omission of CCB on a 08 car that ceramics were not specced because "[the] existing client would not buy a car with Ceramics because of the replacement costs".

IIRC Ceramics were announced as std around Nov '07 but think it came in for April '08 production together with the 4 Year warranty (all at a cost of course!) this car was registered in March '08 so just preceded them being std.
The only benefits on road used for CCM's is they don't produce much dust and look good. They're of course better on track as there's little or no fade but they wear massively and so become an expensive option
