Hello,

Not using my F430 Spider as frequently during these winter months, it is left in the garage though so would be good to hook it up to a battery charger / conditioner.

Can anyone advise a genuine / official / approved / etc unit that will do the job? It doesn't need to be the original Ferrari one, just one that won't invalidate my warranty (car was bought from main dealer), if any will.

Thanks for the advice.

Any electronic charger will do but only the genuine one has the correct plug, all others will need adapting to avoid having to dig around in the footwell.

Get yourself an optimate, easy enough to connect.
Amazon as good a place as any or Halfords own make, you want a conditioner not charger.

Genuine Ferrari and Lamborghini ones are just rebadged CTEK ones - can you get the proprietary adaptor plug off them ?

The Ferrari one is sold as a kit (P/N 70001796) with various adapters so you don't need to remove the plug - but it also includes tails to replace the original so you don't have this problem again - but the original plug's wiring I think works an idiot light to tell you if you are still connected which I think not all the others do

with the real one dont you have to remove the rear panel behind the passenger seat to connect each time ?
I never used the factory one as have optimate or similar screwed to the wall.

this is very easy

don't but an accumate/ optimate I have had a couple and they both broke..

get yourself a CTEK, and then simply install the connector onto the battery under the passenger footwell and leave the connector sticking out.

very very easy to do smile

Strange! I had two and both of them went faulty and you could never tell if it was charging or not, the lights just randomly choose a different pattern everyday!

from my experience of running both the CTEK is a much smaller and lighter unit, and seems a better built option smile

Only thing to watch I found is that the silly inline fuse thing can blow if you dont turn off at mains before connecting.
Even when blown the 4 lights still come up on the unit but its not charging anything, took me a while to work out what was wrong, now I always turn off power before reconecting, then connect little plug and turn on power.

Bit piss poor, if I may say so, to buy a car from a main dealer and not get a charger with it. Chargers came as standard kit with new 430s.

Are you still looking for one?

I have an official charger from one of my previous 430's - in excellent condition with instructions and still its its original leather case.

I have been meaning to have a clear out and put it on eBay but have never got round to it.

Also have the bag with seat covers and steering wheel cover (gave the car cover away) and the torch from the glovebox. Anyone able to suggest what these are worth second hand

No, the real one connects under the bonnet. Really easy.
