Just wondered if anyone had any idea what price these are actually selling for at the moment.

I can see a few for sale with prices from 700k - 900k...but are they actually changing hands at these prices - or are dealers just listing and hoping?

I've got just over 9k on mine and to be honest would be tempted to sell at the moment if I could get towards the top end of that range.

Anyone care to share their thoughts?

650-750k gbp

the spread between asking and actual is huge. With asset prices stagnating across the board I can see this staying flat if not falling away.

Auction prices are the only way to tell true selling prices - £650k seems about right at the moment.

I wonder how easy it would be to sell privately. The dealer and auction house spreads seem massive!

I reckon you could be cheeky and ask 850,000 because of the rarity of them.
If I saw your f40 I would buy it in a heart beat

OK - think I may get in touch with a few dealers in the new year as I am seriously tempted to try going down the Koenigsegg route for a change smile

There has been one sat at Maranello Egham for a little while now at around 850, whereas the F50 next to it sold in 30 mins for the same amount.

I've had the F40 about 10 years and loved every minute of it...I just think life's too short not to experience as much as you can.

I can't imagine lying on my death bed thinking...'damn, I wish I hadn't bought that Agera R/CCX'.

From what I have read and seen of Christian - he really is inspirational and I'd love to be part of the companies journey.

I made my money taking punts on people - and just think this one is one I would not regret.

At the end of the day; it's your money and your F40 but I can't say I'd be doing the same....

Koenigseggs, whilst massively fast, don't appear to have the best reliability reputation, nor residual value.

But hey, horses for courses - you only live once and all that.

I believe from talking to people the problems were with older cars - not the newer ones. I would be looking at a newer one which has hopefully had any problems ironed out!

The last F40 i remember seeing go through at auction went for £760k at RM's London auction in September. 18k on clock and was definitely not the best one i've ever seen.

I understand completely but leverage the F40 to buy the Koenigsegg

g-reg - would love to have a drink with you one day to talk about the mind of an investor. I'm a keen technology nut - always have been, ever since the ZX8.1 I've been reasonably successful in software sales/marketing but I'm itching to take what I've learned over the years and plough that into my own innovation. To bring this thread back on topic, I love any F40 and aspire to own one some day soon biggrin

Do you know what sort of figure would the owner have received from that?
