California T - which colour red?
Discussion
Just thinking of ordering a California T to replace my DBS. Use the back seats for my 2 young boys so I need a 2+2. I initially liked the California Rosso on the launch car but it carries a premium option price of over £7K. I also think perhaps it looks a bit less sporty than Rosso Corsa. Is it an option worth going for or should I stick with Rosso Corsa (or some other red)? Whilst I also liked the blue would be my first Ferrari so I reckon I have to go red.

Red all day long, my only choice if I ever change my 360 will be California red and cream. Mike
IMO If it is to be a keeper, then order the colour and spec you prefer.
If short term, say 1 year, then Rosso Corsa with tan/Nero+ contrasting stitching.
Only order crema if your first Ferrari-it is not a practical colour for more than occasional use.
Sports buckets are oh so supportive and look great.
Good luck, the Cali T is a great car !
Hi Lime1, Did you order your California T yet? I'm with the other post that says you should go with your personal preference at the end of the day. Interestingly, I looked at your car history and its similar to my own (V8 Vantage, E type, RRS, Mini) with the exception of Ferraris. The traditional thing to typically do is buy a red one as a first ferrari but I think things are changing a bit. I think the older mid engine ones I had suit Rosso Corsa very well (my 328 and 355 were this colour) but Im not so sure with the California. Maybe my opinion is skewed by having two of this colour and then wanting a change. My California is Grigio Silverstone which I thought was great when I bought it and I still like it but would definitely choose something else next time around. I'm also with other posts in thinking £7k for a special or historic colour is ridiculous. The contrast black roof looks great though. The way to settle it is to do the Attilier program where you go to the factory to spec it. Not only will they treat you like royalty but youll get the right car for you at the end of the day (and probably spend more than you were anticipating!)

The DBS has now gone and I've put down the deposit on a Cali T. No final spec yet. My last 2 Astons were both Quantum Silver (dark grey) and the TVR Cerbera before that was also grey. I don't really want to go down the silver / grey route again at present even though I do like the grigio on the California. I agree that £7K for the paint option is steep and it's hard to see how you can justify it. So I think it comes down to Rosso Corsa or one of the no cost option blues. I've had 2 other spectraflair blue TVRs so red will be different and it's my first Ferrari. Finally, I think the Rosso Corsa just looks a bit more sporty than the Rosso California. My feeling is to go with corsa (cuoio interior) and add some interior carbon fibre with the money saved which will again add to the sporty feel. I may put a black wrap on for the roof rather than spend £4k for the factory paint and it gives me more options. It's definitely easy to get out of control with options list. The factory tour is being arranged although it won't happen now before Feb next year by when it may be too late to change the final spec. The one thing I will probably add is a Capristo box and cats to improve the sound and hopefully they'll be available by the time my car's ready. lime1 said:

The car also sold quickly when when p/x for another Cali'.
