F420 gearbox light came on

Gearbox light came on today after a short run,,,couldn't get above second gear.....came home left it half an hour seems fine now ??? low pressure? leak? no signs of a leak any ideas or is it a problem I should let develop (as this is the first time its happened).......05 car

It could be nothing - it could be the F1 lever itself a little loose - it could be the clutch on its way out - it could be the fluid pressure (as noted) - there's a great many 'it could be's at this stage - as you suggest giving it a little time is sensible unless you have a mega-tour planned in which case hooking it up at a dealer might be wisest

See how long the F1 pump runs for when you open the driver's door. If it's more than 7 or 8 seconds then your F1 pump might be on its way out.

Pump runs for 4.5secs just taken it out for a run ...... No gearbox light but a engine light instead!!!!!! Parked up had a coffee retured to car ... No lights everything was good drove lovely, so will just play it out and see if it repeats it's self or not .
