Is the 430 Scuderia a Supercar
Discussion
A supercar (also known as exotic car) is a very expensive and high-performance sports car or grand tourer.[1][2] Supercars are marketed by automakers as unusual and include limited production specials from an "elite" automaker, standard-looking cars modified for power and performance, as well as models that appeal to enthusiasts from smaller manufacturers.[3]
"Supercar" is also a label custom car retrofitters reserve for their showcase, one-of-a-kind project vehicles; typically these are very extensively modified collectible muscle cars, sports cars or grand touring automobiles updated to the very latest "streetable" racing technology

Sounds about right... Guess (referring to the other similar threads) that makes both the Gallardo and R8 super cars...
Amusing post. I never thought of the Gallardo as anything but a supercar but I've changed my mind about the R8; I decided that I was being a snob and didn't have any real valid reasons for why it isn't a Supercar. It is but it just leaves me cold. This 'Super Sport Car' psedo-category sounds like a crock of sh*t to me.
WRT the Scuderia: No, it's just a sports car because it has Fiat wiper stalks.
Something I posted around the question of whether or not an R8 is a Supercar.
"I teach/lecture Product Design to both children and adults. I have had a think about this arguement which is omnipresent on this forum and have come up with a quick acronym. See what you think, but remember you have to judge a car in its era and to be a Supercar it must fit all of the criteria in the acronym.
Tell me what you think, which I am sure you will"

hmmm don't think either R8 or standard Gallardo were limited cars, nor crazy expensive.Audi is not an elite car maker either
Scud is clearly more of a super car than the other two mentioned

Come off it. R8 and Gallardo are clearly supercars as well.
Insanely fast? Check
Eye turning / people mention "I saw an R8 today"? Yep
Out of the reach of 95% of the population? Check.
Sound awesome*? Check
On small boys walls? Aye.
I just don't get the concept that either the badge or whether there is a higher model in the same marque can define whether it's a supercar or not. Noone would reject the Mercades SLR from the supercar moniker, and they are about as close to Audi as you can get. Likewise, the existence of the Muchi does not make a Gallardo naff, in the same way that the Reventon doesn't make a muchi naff.

*All modern supercars need the EU compliant exhaust put in the bin, that's a given. However, this is all within comparable to era etc...
