After disconnecting the battery I am being asked for the radio code. I have looked through everything that came with the car and there is no code card. Is there a standard factory code I can try?

You need the Becker code card which should be in your documents

If you do not have that the supplying dealer might have a note of it still

Failing that you'll need to slip out the unit and write down its serial no and use an online decoder

No there is no factory standard code.

There is guy on F Chat who seems to be able to generate it and mail it to you. Try to find a similar titled post on there and drop him a PM with the serial number. Hopefully you can sort it.

I managed to generate my code here:

http://www.radio-code.lt/

You have to register and you have to enter the serial number in a very specific way but it worked for me after a few tries. (For Beckers you have to enter a space then BE then another space before the serial number).

It may be best to use an unimportant email to register though in case they're collecting them for spam???

I remember trying an online one that you had to pay for and didnt work. Maranello sales got the code in the end - also had to pay.

Thanks Heyrick - still works a treat and I've finally got my code! As I'm resurrecting the thread, the link works for all Becker models. You need to select the model and then type model # + Serial # with no spaces so 123412345678. Worked first time for me.

Oh, it's free BTW

If the code generator doesn't work try removing the head unit - most have got the codes written on them!

There is only one thing to do with a Becker cascade and it involves a hammer! Or at a minimum - replaced.

Well if you've got a few you don't want send them my way. Personally for a single din unit I think they're great. Yes technology has moved on but the space in cars often hasn't without carving them up or installing some hideous flip fronted thing.

Very happy with the 7944 in mine. A big improvement over the god awful Becker that was in my last 430.
