Hi all,
Just brought a 360 and only came with 1 fob , after chasing dealer for the spare fobs it seems the pervious owner has lost them so what are my options for replacement fobs ? Don't like the idea of only having one .
Thanks in advance .

Paul.

If the dealer said it would be supplied with spare fobs then its the dealer responsibility to supply them, a new fob kit retails around £400 + installation (which can be done yourself as long as you have the pin number. If you want to give me acall I will talk you through how to get what you need.

Spare keys are easy, budget fiat blanks start around £4.50, premium aftermarket around £30 and genuine around £120.

If you don't have your pin then you are in for a battle...

I've been trying to get this same issue sorted out for 6 months now and am still no closer to a resolution.
In brief, if you don't have your Pin code then a friendly dealer should be able to order it from Maranello for you.... however, my friendly dealer started that process in January and have still not even heard back from Maranello yet.

If you get a pin code from them (and it works, which obviously it won't if the security ECU was changed at any point) then it's a fairly simple matter of ordering a new set of fobs from Ferrari (about 400gbp)

If they don't have a code, or it doesn't work then the only proper option (I discounted cloning as I don't like bodges) is to have the entire security system replaced (cost here in Dubai is a little over 7500gbp for that)

7500 sounds very steep. I think to replace the immobiliser and fobs in the UK is about £1500.

It is a lesson for any prospective 360 buyer.....Make sure you obtain and test the PIN!

To be fair the "bodges" done by the chap in France and the fella in US all work perfectly .......

They do, as long as you don't mind alternating remotes every couple of days, otherwise they go out of sync so quickly that you end up standing there pressing a button for a hundred times before the car unlocks....

I'd rather spend the cash and do it properly!

It sounds like you'd rather have the battle than a quick simple safe solution !

Not so much, it's more a case of preferring things to work as they should and having one eye on resale as well.... I know that if I went to look at a car and the seller said

"Both fobs work, but you may have to press 100 times before it opens the doors", I'd question what other corners had been cut.

That said though, it is starting to get a little soul destroying trying to sort out what should be such a simple task!

You over-estimate the issue with resynching - the very first use may take a few presses then any future resynchs may take up to a couple of hundred but thats maybe once a year not every other day

Lucky enough , Maranello is only around the corner from me and not having the PIN number they are going to be my first port of call , just got back from Dubai , can't imagine driving my pride and joy there , they all drive like nutters smile and the heat in the rear engine bay must be unbelievable .

Has anyone priced the cloning option lately and mind sharing it? The prices I've seen don't make it a particularly cheap option for one fob......
The Ford Explorer (Robert Bosch) fobs sell for a small fortune on eBay....

I think once I had sourced a fob at £50 from memory the guy in France wanted 50 euros.
This was for my old 355 but assume same on any of them

I went to the main dealer here last week and surprisingly found someone who knew what I was talking about..... PIN code is now ordered (286gbp cost) should arrive within a month then if it works I can order keys and fobs.

To keep this updated the pin code supplied by the dealer worked perfectly (though it's a little more complicated than it initially sounds to actually make it work... I'd all but given up but went back for another try on the 3rd day and it worked.

Now waiting news from the dealer as to how I order the new fobs etc.... wonder if I can hace a California style key with the fob built in?

Good news! It is a.bit tricky especially if you have high numbers in the PIN.

The answer to your last question is unfortunately no frown......you will get a new red one and two new blacks. Better still put you remaining one on eBay and recover some money.

Actually I was considering buying a California key and seeing if I could reverse engineer my "spare" remote into it...I'm sure I saw on one of the US forums that somebody had successfully achieved this.
