355 gtb ...sell now or wait
Discussion
I've wanted a murcielago ever since I saw one at the factory launch in 2001
there might be a well maintained car available to me , but not until the late autumn , which is not realy an issue for me as I tend to keep my cars for a long time
the question is whether I should attempt to sell my manual 355 gtb now, or whether to enjoy it through the summer until the autumn, when presumably the market for it will be smaller
I have had the car for 8 years now, and have an amount of affection for it and its history (kate bush's husband was the 1st owner , and it is the beaulieu national motor museum photographic library's 355 reference example) , and do not want it to go to a short term owner
do you feel that it would be unwise to wait until the autumn before advertising it?
on a separate vein, are there any 355 owners who have moved from a 355 to a murcie (or the other way round), who are able to tell me what the real world experience of living with a murcie vs a 355 is like ---driving /maintainance costs/reliability/practicality as a 2nd car
thanks in advance

Not trying to cause a row or anything but would you really turn down a serious buyer because they might not keep the car for long? In my mind when I sell a car its sold, belongs to someone else now to do with as they want.
Additionally can't imagine someone bother to come and look at a car now that isn't around until the end of the summer other than have a free test drive. Its just not a rare enough to justify surely?

speed yellow--I suspect you are right on all 3 counts
this was in fact why I started this thread, as I too suspected that a 355 is not sufficiently rare to wait for, and thereby waste a driving season (I actually waited 6 months for one of my cars , and 2 1/2 years for another , but that is a different story and a different scenario)
so, i'll have to make up my mind one way or another , and will get in touch with mike wheeler at rardley or nick cartwright if necessary
thanks to all for your comments
